At some point, everyone seeks to understand the purpose of life, and in The Sims 4: Life & Death, this journey becomes more engaging for your Sims with the introduction of the Soul’s Journey feature. Create a bucket list for your Sim and check off objectives to advance through their personal journey!
For each Sim, the Soul’s Journey kicks off at young adulthood and continues into their afterlife, offering additional achievements for ghost Sims. This feature adds a rich layer to ghost gameplay and can even lead to a Sim’s reincarnation.
How To Progress In The Soul’s Journey
Bucket Lists And Aspirations In Life And Death
Once a Sim becomes a young adult during their life stage in The Sims 4, a new feature from the Life & Death expansion pack becomes available: the bucket list. This improved system tracks your Sim’s ambitions, dreams, and goals. As you play, your Sim naturally formulates objectives based on their experiences, or you can select specific goals manually if desired.
The completion of these bucket list objectives significantly enhances progress in the Soul’s Journey; they are particularly impactful in gaining momentum. In fact, if your Sim has the Chased by Death trait, they can create specific goals instead of randomly selecting from general categories, allowing for more focused progression.
However, bucket list goals aren’t the only way to advance in the Soul’s Journey. Accomplishing various gameplay tasks will cause a green meditation icon to appear near your Sim’s aspirations, indicating progress towards their Soul’s Journey.
Points can also be earned through:
- Completing milestones in your Sim’s aspiration, visible below the Soul’s Journey in the Life & Death pack.
- Meeting various wants and whims, providing your Sim with satisfaction points that can be spent in the Rewards Store.
In total, the goal is to enrich your Sim’s life by intertwining their aspirations and goals. This approach ensures that as your Sim progresses through the Soul’s Journey, they receive numerous benefits. Remember, the journey doesn’t end when a Sim dies, especially since playing as ghost Sims is a central aspect of the expansion pack!
What Happens When You Complete Your Soul’s Journey?
To finish a Sim’s Soul’s Journey, you’ll need to keep playing as them after their death. You can keep them in your household at the time of their death, allowing them to interact and remain part of the family rather than being a free-roaming ghost tied only to their urn or headstone.
If you choose to continue as a ghost, there are additional milestones in the Soul’s Journey reserved solely for ghost Sims! These milestones enhance your ghostly abilities as you navigate the powers linked to Ghost Mastery in the Life & Death expansion.
Upon completing the extra Soul’s Journey milestones as a ghost, your Sim will unlock various perks, particularly with the final milestone known as The Big Picture, which includes:
- Increased stamina for using their Ghost Mastery powers.
- The Burning Soul trait, enabling Sims to remember traits from their previous lives, which can be passed down to their new incarnations.
Once these milestones are achieved, your Sim can opt for rebirth, taking on traits and skills from their former life, adding depth and continuity to their character in the game.
