To finish the Rites of the Deep questline in Destiny 2: Heresy, players must take down three Expressions of Many. These bosses, categorized as Taken Knights, can be found throughout the Cosmodrome. Once you defeat them, you’ll receive the Willbreaker Shard: Realms, a crucial item for advancing your quest.
The Taken Knights are protected by various Taken enemies such as Thralls, Minotaurs, and Captains. To make the fight easier, it’s best to use Roaming Supers and perks like Chain Reaction, Voltshot, or Destabilizing Rounds to dispatch them quickly.
How to Defeat Expressions of Many
These bosses are part of an optional quest called Shattered Shards: An Entity Manifested, which you can access from the Shaping Slab in The Last City. The locations of the enemies are marked on your map, so finding them should be straightforward. You will encounter them at Dock 13, Lunar Complex, and Gateway.
Like Vorok, these Taken Knights don’t possess a high amount of health. Powerful Supers like Needlestorm, Thundercrash, Nova Bomb, and Golden Gun can take them down with a single hit. They are also vulnerable to Precision Damage, making weapons like Sniper Rifles, Machine Guns, and Linear Fusion Rifles especially effective. Additionally, don’t forget that you can apply debuffs to increase your damage output.
Tip: Clear out the surrounding enemies before engaging the Taken Knights to prevent being overwhelmed. The melee-focused enemies will struggle to reach you if you position yourself on higher ground.
Each Taken Knight will have a significant Taken Blight nearby, which doesn’t need to be destroyed since it disappears once the Knight is defeated.
Mirmo, The Envious
You can find Mirmo, The Envious inside the Lunar Complex. From Skywatch, head towards the entrance of the Grasp of Avarice dungeon, moving through the abandoned blue building until you reach a room with a Shrieker—this is where Mirmo awaits.
Mirmo, The Jealous
To locate Mirmo, The Jealous, start from The Steppes (Landing Zone). From there, navigate through the surrounding area until you find a large room where Mirmo resides.
Mirmo, The Covetous
Finally, you’ll discover Mirmo, The Covetous at the Gateway, positioned in the bottom-left section of your map. Look for the area filled with rusty cars where New Light players first spawn.
Once you’ve defeated all three Taken Knights, make your way back to the Shaping Slab in Eris’ Apartment in The Last City to collect the Willbreaker Shard: Realms. This item is essential for completing the Rites of the Deep questline, alongside rewards like Sigil Shards, Essence of Desire, and seasonal gear.
