Scarlet Witch, in particular, is not overly difficult to learn. She can deal impressive damage and take down enemies swiftly, making her a powerful and valuable addition to any team in various scenarios.
Updated December 14, 2024, by Seth Parmer: We have revisited this guide since its initial release during the Beta phase of Marvel Rivals to enhance our insights on mastering Scarlet Witch, given the full launch of the game and the addition of new characters. While she remains largely unchanged, her damage capabilities have been fine-tuned, emphasizing the importance of strong team compositions to maximize her effectiveness!
Scarlet Witch Overview in Marvel Rivals
Scarlet Witch stands out as one of the top Duelists in Marvel Rivals, boasting speed, effective escape abilities, and the capacity to deal tremendous damage with her standard and alternate attacks. This damage output is amplified further with her powerful Ultimate Attack, known to be among the most formidable in the game.
Being a Duelist means she has limited health, but with a good supporting team, this isn’t a significant drawback. Her high damage output and ability to exert dominance, especially in the later stages of the game, make her an excellent choice for new players.

Additionally, her ability to consistently deal damage, generate Chaos Energy, and build her Ultimate Meter rapidly makes her a significant threat to any opponent. If the enemy team is caught off guard, she can eliminate them in seconds, especially if she can successfully execute her Reality Erasure.
Recommended Teams
Unlike certain characters that require specific partners to excel, Scarlet Witch fits well into virtually any team composition. While pairing her with Magneto is advantageous due to their team-up ability, it is not essential.
Essentially, Scarlet Witch is incredibly strong in Marvel Rivals, so her effectiveness is not reliant on a particular team structure. However, having a teammate that can offer healing or shield support would be beneficial to keep her alive during tough encounters.
Since the Beta, Scarlet Witch’s damage output has been tweaked slightly, making her a bit less overpowering. Nevertheless, she remains a significant force with the potential to dominate battles. With Cloak & Dagger joining the game, she can receive constant healing, making her even more dangerous in the right hands and with a supportive team!
How to Play as Scarlet Witch in Marvel Rivals
Scarlet Witch offers a straightforward gameplay experience in Marvel Rivals. Her Standard Attack (Chaos Control) is designed to automatically target nearby enemies, helping you quickly gather Chaos Energy for her Alt-Fire (Chthonian Burst) and rapidly fill your Ultimate Gauge.
Scarlet Witch Combos in Marvel Rivals
- Dark Seal > Detonate Dark Seal > Chaos Control > Chthonian Burst x4 > Mystic Projection or Chaos Control
- Dark Seal > Detonate Dark Seal > Chthonian Burst x2 > Chaos Control > Chthonian Burst x2 > Mystic Projection
- Dark Seal > Detonate Dark Seal > Chaos Control > Chthonian Burst x4 > Mystic Projection > Reality Erasure
Dark Seal serves as a strong opener for combos, allowing Scarlet Witch to stun her enemies and facilitate a follow-up stream of attacks from Chaos Control before launching into her more powerful Chthonian Burst.
Once you run out of Chthonian Burst charges, if you can’t finish off foes with Chaos Control, it’s advisable to activate Mystic Projection to escape temporarily for healing or shielding from your teammates.
Always stay a step ahead of your opponents, as Scarlet Witch’s abilities are designed for causing disruption. She can evade easily, return to deal further damage, and repeat the cycle. Play wisely while collaborating with your team, but don’t hesitate to test your limits to gauge their responses.
When to Use Reality Erasure
Reality Erasure represents Scarlet Witch’s Ultimate Ability in Marvel Rivals, channeling a potent Chaos Energy surge that can decimate the entire enemy team if they aren’t quick to seek cover or manage to lessen the damage.
The catch is that the casting time for Reality Erasure makes Scarlet Witch quite vulnerable, putting her at risk of being attacked before she can unleash the ability. Moreover, the prime moment to execute this Ultimate Attack is when the foes are clustered together.
It’s advisable to use Reality Erasure in coordination with your team, ensuring they can provide the necessary healing and shielding while she channels. This Ultimate Attack is highly conspicuous and will alert opponents to its activation, making stealthy execution difficult. Timing and positioning are critical, so make sure your allies are ready to protect you beforehand.
The worst scenario is attempting to unleash Reality Erasure after putting in the effort to charge it up, only to be eliminated just before it activates. This Ultimate Attack carries substantial power and can dramatically shift the battle’s momentum, so exercise caution and team up with your comrades to utilize it effectively!
