Updated December 19, 2024, by Seth Parmer: Since the beta, Namor has received a slight increase in health with the full release of Marvel Rivals, enabling him to stay longer in battles. This is a significant advantage given his already strong performance in the beta. We’ve also spotlighted his Team-Up Ability, which is one of the standout features of the game and can significantly enhance his effectiveness!
Namor Overview in Marvel Rivals
Namor is a fairly simple Duelist in Marvel Rivals. Once you understand his abilities, he can quickly set up attacks, deal significant damage, and accumulate KOs. He is a Ranged DPS character, allowing him to stay away from the chaos while wearing down his enemies.
However, as a Duelist, Namor has limited health, making him vulnerable to ambushes and flanking attacks. Fortunately, he has a strong escape mechanism that helps him maneuver out of tricky situations.

Namor Team-Ups
Chilling Charisma is one of the stronger Team-Ups in Marvel Rivals, allowing Luna Snow to enhance Namor and Jeff the Land Shark. This enables them to boost any chosen ability, potentially leading to devastating outcomes. While this feature hasn’t changed since the beta, Namor’s health has increased, allowing him to stay engaged in battles longer.
If you play as Namor, consider including Luna Snow on your team, as boosting any of his abilities makes him considerably more powerful. This made him formidable in the beta, and that power remains now, especially with his recent health buff!

The simplicity of Namor’s moves makes him particularly accessible to new players. As a Ranged DPS, you can initiate your offense without needing to engage up close with the enemy.
Even with the management of Monstro Spawns, Namor’s abilities are easy to grasp and fun to learn. He is a rewarding pick and an entertaining character to play, making him one of the top Duelists for both beginners and experienced players in Marvel Rivals!
Recommended Teams
As a fairly simple Duelist, Namor pairs well with a variety of team setups. However, having Luna Snow’s Team-Up Ability is particularly beneficial for him, so aim to include her in your lineup if possible.
The additional damage from her Ice Energy boosts Namor’s power even further, and her ability to heal him adds extra support. Beyond Luna, you can team up with almost anyone else, as covering each other’s weaknesses and fulfilling your roles will lead to victory. With Namor’s capability to deal damage from a distance, you’ll be a force to reckon with.
Also, if Luna Snow is in your squad, consider adding Jeff the Land Shark. He’s currently one of the top Heroes in the game and can really elevate Namor’s performance if both utilize their Team-Ups effectively!
How to Play as Namor in Marvel Rivals
Overall, Namor is a simple character to get the hang of, and starting your attacks will require minimal effort. If the situation becomes unfavorable, you can activate his Blessing of the Deep ability to escape, reposition, and initiate your offensive strategies once again. You will find it easy to pick up and play Namor, especially when you become familiar with some of his combo sequences!
Namor Combos in Marvel Rivals
- Aquatic Dominion > Trident of Neptune > Aquatic Dominion > Wrath of the Seven Seas > Trident of Neptune
- Aquatic Dominion > Aquatic Dominion > Trident of Neptune > Wrath of the Seven Seas > Blessing of the Deep
- Aquatic Dominion > Aquatic Dominion > Trident of Neptune > Wrath of the Seven Seas > Horn of Proteus > Aquatic Dominion > Trident of Neptune > Wrath of the Seven Seas > Blessing of the Deep
Aquatic Dominion should be the starting point for all of Namor’s combos, as it summons a Monstro Spawn onto the battlefield, allowing Wrath of the Seven Seas to amplify its damage output. By placing two Spawns on the field and then using Wrath of the Seven Seas, you can deal significant damage to your opponents. This is an excellent combination.
Furthermore, utilizing Trident of Neptune to reduce Aquatic Dominion’s cooldown timer ensures you can keep summoning them and maintain aggressive pressure throughout battles. And this can become even more effective with the potential damage increase from Luna Snow’s Team-Up Ability.
Don’t forget that if the tide turns against you, you can activate Blessing of the Deep to shield yourself from incoming damage, giving you the chance to regroup or reposition. Being a ranged fighter, Namor allows you to stay out of the fray, but it’s not uncommon to get overwhelmed, and this ability can be a lifesaver!
When to Use Horn of Proteus
Horn of Proteus serves as Namor’s Ultimate Ability in Marvel Rivals, allowing him to summon Giganto, who will dive onto a group of enemies and temporarily disable their mobility skills. This ability is fantastic for cornering foes in a confined space, enabling your team to swiftly eliminate them.
You should use this move as part of your combo, typically to extend it further. You’ll likely be able to re-summon Monstro Spawns and employ Wrath of the Seven Seas to keep up your offensive strategy and inflict even more damage. The third combo listed earlier shows how to effectively incorporate the Horn of Proteus into your moves.
When using an Ultimate Ability that impairs the enemy’s movement, it’s advisable to do so alongside teammates so that they can take advantage of the enemies’ compromised positions. Don’t waste it on a single opponent; instead, use it to maximize damage on multiple targets. Be sure to communicate this to your team in advance so everyone is ready to capitalize!
