Forts and Castles play a significant role in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, serving as venues to showcase your Shinobi or Samurai skills within intricately designed dungeons. As you face these challenges, you can choose to rely on brute strength as Yasuke or utilize stealthy tactics for assassinations as Noae, giving you various ways to navigate each zone.
The Kunimiyama Fort is one of the game’s more compact and straightforward locations, presenting a sequence of three heavily fortified gated areas. The final section contains your target along with the rewards you seek. As you wrap up your journey through the Kunimiyama Fort, follow Noae’s path home.
Where Can You Find Kunimiyama Fort?
Kunimiyama Fort is nestled in Eastern Ichinomiya in Iga, the homeland of Noae.
It is situated deep within the mountains, positioned roughly midway between two fast-travel points: to the east of Aekuni Kakurega and south of Mibuno Kakurega.
How to Locate and Eliminate the Samurai Daisho
This fort resembles a linear, multi-layered castle that follows a single pathway leading to a small tower. Start your infiltration by heading into the first tower and dealing with the initial group of guards (or sneaking by them if you’re up for some risk).
The Samurai Daisho can be found patrolling the northern courtyard, just past the initial closed door within the fort.
How to Stealthily Eliminate the Samurai Daisho
To stealthily eliminate the Samurai Daisho, quietly enter the courtyard where he is patrolling, beyond a second set of closed wooden doors. The optimal strategy is to take out the guard who patrols the bridge leading to the Samurai’s courtyard.
From the building adjacent to the bridge, leap into some bushes and wait for the guard to pass by. Take him out by executing a stealth kill in the bushes, then silently cross the bridge, climb the wall, and conceal yourself at the top.
Make sure to collect the resources located right next to the bushes before the bridge.
Your best chance of stealthily eliminating the Daisho is to wait at the top of the archway. Stay hidden as the Samurai makes his rounds, then drop down and eliminate him as he passes by.
If you time it well, when the Daisho moves to the right by the bushes, your attack will go unnoticed.
What Rewards Await You at Kunimiyama Fort?
After defeating the Daisho, the main chest is now accessible to you, along with additional loot to collect during your exploration.
Additional Loot
In the building adjacent to where you eliminated the Samurai, you’ll find two chests: one containing Hemp Cloth, Silk, and Mon, and the other featuring a River Scene Wall Decoration.
From this secondary building, proceed north to gather some minerals on your way to the final tower.

Enter the lower level of the tower located in the northwestern area of the fort to claim your rewards:
- 3,000 Exp
- One mastery point
- A Swift Shinobi Hood (Legendary, adjustable to your level)
- An Engraving
With the main chest opened, you’ve thoroughly completed the Kunimiyama Fort in Assassin’s Creed Shadows.
