Each new season of Fortnite comes with its own unique theme. With the start of Fortnite: Chapter 6, Season 1, players will explore a Japanese-style environment, with NPC hunters and demons appearing throughout the map.
As is customary with new seasons, there are numerous quests to tackle, offering a wealth of XP as rewards. One intriguing quest this season focuses on a mysterious Giant Turtle that has appeared on the map. Your mission is to track it down and figure out what’s happening.
How to Locate the Giant Turtle
The Giant Turtle quest is separate from the main Story quests in Chapter 6, Season 1. This quest starts with an announcement about the turtle’s emergence, and your objective is simple: find it.
The challenge lies in the fact that the turtle appears in a different water location each match, so you must be vigilant while searching.
Once you manage to spot the Giant Turtle, land on it to meet a character named Ryuji, who will request your assistance in freeing the Great Turtle from the grips of Dark Magic Thorns.
Surrounding the turtle’s shell, there are five dark red thorns that you need to get rid of.
These thorns are easily recognizable as red sticks protruding from the shell.
After clearing away all five thorns, return to Ryuji to receive a rare treasure chest as a reward for your help.
All Possible Locations for the Giant Turtle
To find the turtle more efficiently, glide around in the sky and inspect all the water areas.
Look for the turtle’s green shell, which will also have a few trees atop it; this means you’ve discovered the Giant Turtle.
When you see it, land carefully—other players may also be aiming for the same location, so be ready for conflict.
As previously noted, the Giant Turtle’s location changes with each match, but below is a list of areas where it commonly appears:
- South of Nightshift Forest.
- Around Whiffy Wharf.
- West of Pumped Power.
- Next to the bridge east of Seaport City.
- East of Masked Meadows.
- Southeast of Warrior’s Watch.
