As you navigate through Fantasian Neo Dimension, you’ll come across various chests, ranging from basic wooden versions to intricate mechanical ones. Many of these chests are locked and require specific keys to unlock them.
One type of key you’ll encounter is the Machine Key. In Act 1, these keys might seem unfamiliar, even though you’ll spot their corresponding chests throughout the game. Obtaining Machine Keys can be a bit challenging, but the rewards they unlock are definitely worth the effort.
What Are Machine Keys Used For?
Machine Keys are essential for opening Machine Chests—it’s as simple as that. These chests are primarily found in the Machine Realm, although you can also locate a few in the Human Realm.
However, it’s important to note that Machine Keys are nearly impossible to acquire before Act 2. They do not appear in the Human Realm and are mostly obtained as set drops.
Where To Get Machine Keys
Rescuing Missing Robots
One of the main ways to obtain Machine Keys initially is by rescuing robots scattered throughout the Human Realm. There are a total of ten robots to rescue, and each will grant you a unique reward.
You can find the robots in any order, and the rewards are based on how many you’ve rescued. Specifically, you will receive Machine Keys for saving one, three, five, seven, and nine robots, totaling seven keys. While this is helpful, it’s not nearly enough to open all the Machine Chests, which leads us to the next method.
Farming In The Wormhole
Once you rescue two robots, you unlock the Lost In The Multiverse quest, allowing you to start your journey to save Kina and Cheryl. This quest also enables you to access the Wormhole in the Machine Realm, a great place to find additional Machine Keys.
After unlocking the Wormhole, you can freely explore it. Among the many enemies that appear, Key Orblings drop Machine Keys. Farming these enemies is straightforward—simply move back and forth between the Warp Point and the next area until the Dimengeon fills up, then take down all the enemies inside. If you keep this up, you’ll quickly build a stockpile of Machine Keys.
Tip: Key Orblings are significantly less likely to escape during battles in the Dimengeon, making it easier to collect keys from them.
