As you progress through Act Two in Path of Exile 2, you may come across a special relic that initiates the quest called Ancient Vows. The quest description is rather vague, so you might feel uncertain about your next steps.
This guide will help you navigate the completion of Ancient Vows. This quest can be activated by finding one of two unique relics, and it doesn’t matter which you discover first. We’ll start with the Kabala Clan Relic, but feel free to skip this section if you already have it.
How to Visit These Areas for the First Time
To complete this quest, you will need to explore several locations:
- Keth
- The Bone Pits (via the Mastodon Badlands)
- Valley of the Titans
To access these areas for the first time, you must utilize the Desert Map on the Ardura Caravan. From there, you can choose adjacent locations. Once you arrive at a location and discover a waypoint, you can use it to teleport there whenever you wish.
While you’re completing the main quest, you will naturally visit these areas. You can choose to tackle them simultaneously or focus on Ancient Vows first.
Where to Locate the Kabala Clan Relic
You can find this relic in Keth. By defeating serpentine enemies, you may have the chance to obtain it. It can be a bit luck-based, but Keth is filled with serpentine foes, so taking down groups of them could lead to finding the relic.
The relic will have a green name, making it easy to spot. After you acquire it, be sure to return to the caravan.
Where to Find the Sun Clan Relic
This relic is located in The Bone Pits. Instead of traveling directly from the Desert Map, you’ll first need to head to the Mastodon Badlands.
Once you’re there, explore until you find the entrance to The Bone Pits. Defeating enemies in this area will give you a chance to collect the Sun Clan Relic, which is also marked in green.
What to Do with Both Relics
Now that you have both relics, it’s time to head to the Valley of the Titans. In this area, you need to locate the waypoint. Just wander around until you see it.
Near the waypoint, there will be an altar-like structure with a Medallion. Approach it, and you’ll be prompted to insert both relics into the designated slots. Afterward, you can select one of two buffs.
Which Buff Should You Select?
Here are the two buffs you can choose from:
- 30% Increased Charm Charges Gained
- 15% Increased Mana Recovery From Flasks
Deciding which buff to choose depends on your play style. If you use a class that heavily relies on Mana, then boosting your Mana recovery from flasks would likely be advantageous.
Conversely, if you rely on charms for various effects and refills, then the buff for charm charges could serve you well, especially before engaging in difficult battles.
You can change your selected buff at any time—just return to the Valley of Titans and pick the buff you want to activate.
