If you’re taking on the ‘Cockatrice In The Clouds’ bounty in Metaphor: ReFantazio this September, you’re in for quite an adventure at the Manor of the Ascendant near Port Brilehaven. This dungeon is packed with various monsters, but it’s also rich in treasure hiding in corners and cracks, just waiting for you to uncover it.
Here’s a detailed guide to this dungeon, covering all the creatures you’ll face, the loot available, and other points of interest. Let’s dive in!
Navigating the Manor of the Ascendant
As you step into the first room, you’ll notice a large platform to the north, which doesn’t seem to have any function at the moment.
Later on, these platforms will become portals once activated.
To progress, you should turn left towards the next room where the portal pedestal is located, and then take the crawlspace on your right to move to the next area, following the map and climbing a ladder.
In the next area, you can head directly south through a crawlspace to find another room with an item.
On the second floor, make your way east across the narrow platforms. You’ll find a few optional items here (details below).
In the corridor leading north, take the crawlspace to your left to access a new area with a Gold Beetle.
You can also head north and descend the ladder to find an item on the first floor.
To make progress, you should take the crawlspace on your right and follow it down to the southernmost ladder on the map. After descending, collect the item immediately on your right, and then follow the path north to a room with an inactive portal.
Enter the crawlspace to the north to reach the next section and continue moving further north. Use the Move Contraption at the room’s northern end to activate all the portal platforms throughout the dungeon.
Now that you’ve activated the portals, you can easily return to different sections. Each portal in the north, east, south, and west connects to a matching pair in the center of the map.
Using these portals will transport you back and forth seamlessly.
There’s one extra portal in the center, and this will take you up to the third floor.
Make your way through the most central portal (the lower of the two northern ones) to reach the third floor. From here, you can go either right or left since both paths lead to the same room. On the fourth floor, take either of the southern paths to get to the fifth floor, but don’t forget to look for treasure chests along the way.
On the fourth floor, enter the central chamber and take the crawlspace south to reach the room with two chests. Grab your loot before continuing your journey.
Once you’ve taken either of the southern paths to the fifth floor, it’ll be a direct route to the room where Kokamordos — the Terror of the Skies — awaits you.

Enemies in the Manor of the Ascendant
Most of the enemies in this dungeon have weaknesses to Fire and Pierce, so you shouldn’t have too much trouble overall. Once you conquer Kokamordos, it won’t show up again.
