The Xbox store has revealed a significant unannounced PS5 update for the acclaimed 2017 Ubisoft action game. While the publisher has been consistently providing native PS5 updates for its older titles in recent years, Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon Wildlands appears to be getting an extra boost, according to its leaked listing.
An unannounced update for Ghost Recon Wildlands promises support for 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, along with a new mission titled “Last Rites.” Ubisoft generally offers current-gen updates free of charge. Although it’s unclear whether the new mission will be sold separately, it’s expected that the PS5 update will be downloadable without additional cost.
Despite receiving a Metacritic score of 70/100 on PS4, Ghost Recon Wildlands was a commercial hit, ranking among the series’ best-selling titles. Currently, the game is included in the PS Plus Extra and Premium subscription catalogs.
The game’s storyline is set in a near-future Bolivia, which has fallen under the control of a ruthless drug cartel. Players lead an elite team of soldiers, carrying out raids, piloting drones, helicopters, and navigating some of the most stunning landscapes Bolivia has to offer.
