Path of Exile 2 is a complex game, offering numerous systems, mechanics, skills, and a wealth of content to discover. In Act 2, players can Ascend their characters, allowing them to choose a subclass that provides unique skills and enhances their build options.
To Ascend your character, you’ll need to complete the Trials of the Sekhemas, where you might come across a valuable currency known as Sacred Water. Below, you’ll find essential details about Sacred Water, including how to obtain it and its uses.
Where to Find Sacred Water
Sacred Water is a unique currency found exclusively in the Trial of the Sekhemas during Act 2, which is necessary for character Ascension. As you navigate the Trial, regular enemies may drop small amounts of Sacred Water, which will appear as glowing blue orbs on the ground. When you walk near them, they are automatically collected.
Your primary method for acquiring Sacred Water involves discovering Sacred Water Fountains, specialized rooms you can select during your Trial path. These fountains grant a significantly larger amount of Sacred Water, typically ranging from one to two hundred units. There are also Grand Sacred Water Fountains that provide even greater rewards.
How to Use Sacred Water
Sacred Water can only be utilized within the Trial of the Sekhemas; if you exit the Trial, any remaining Sacred Water will be forfeited. Fortunately, you have various options for spending it that offer lasting benefits.
The primary method for using Sacred Water is to purchase items from the Merchant, who occasionally appears during the Trial. Through this Merchant, you can acquire Boons that enhance your abilities in subsequent rooms, Relics that can be preserved for future runs, or choose to simply restore your Honour.
Sacred Water can also be utilized in Shrine rooms to regain a small portion of Honour.
Upon completing the Trial, you can again spend your Sacred Water at the Merchant or utilize the Keth Forge to convert any leftover Sacred Water into Keys, which can then be used to unlock treasure chests in the same area. Since Sacred Water is lost when you exit the Trial, this is essentially its only purpose after finishing.
