After an extensive adventure in Stalker 2: Heart Of Chornobyl, filled with choices, you’ll eventually arrive at the Noontide base, where you’ll encounter various former members of the Monolith faction. One of them, Prof. Lodochka, will be found in his bunker as part of the main storyline.
Following some dialogue, he will assign you a side quest that involves climbing to the top of the Noontide base to disable an antenna that is emitting harmful Psi radiation. He may also request that you take out Kvashka, but this is not mandatory.
Getting to the Antenna
Once you’ve accepted the “A Sign Of Hope” quest from the professor, you’re ready to head to the antenna. Start by leaving the bunker and moving toward the main building. If you take a direct route, you’ll find yourself on one of the building’s roofs, where you can spot some stairs going up not far away. Follow these steps to reach the top:
- Ascend the first flight of stairs, then enter the door on your right. Proceed forward and go down another set of stairs before turning left and climbing up the wooden planks.
- This will bring you to another staircase. Climb it and go through the first door on your right. Here, you can jump onto the pipes in the center and then onto the platform on the other side before exiting through the door.
- You will find yourself back at the staircase you can climb to reach the roof. Continue until you encounter some broken stairs, then navigate around the building at this point.
- Eventually, you’ll notice a structure with ladders that lead you to Kvashka. You will also see the stairs and a ladder that take you directly to the antenna situated in front of him.
Once you arrive at the antenna, just turn it off, and then you can decide what to do with Kvashka.
Is Shooting Kvashka the Right Choice?
While Lodochka suggests that you shoot Kvashka to put an end to his suffering, you will also receive a message from Khors during your ascent. He will urge you to spare Kvashka, suggesting there’s still hope for him. Ultimately, the choice is yours, and your decision will affect the rewards you receive.
Regardless of your action, you will receive an upgraded detector when you return to Lodochka. However, if you choose to leave Kvashka unharmed, you can discuss him with Khors at the base, and he will reward you with an additional 2,600 coupons.
