It’s Hard To Find And Unlock
The hidden vault in Shiny Shafts during Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 2 is a concealed treasure site within a newly introduced area known as Shiny Shafts. This location features multiple levels of mine tunnels packed with loot and potential combat encounters, situated on the western side of the map. To access the vault, start from outside the shaft and follow the rails heading south. Look for a starting point near a pipe wheel to begin the challenge.
Unlike the regular vaults that are easy to locate and access, this secret vault is unmarked and requires a unique unlocking method, making it a tougher challenge. Ensure you familiarize yourself with the entrance before you dive in since the clock is ticking. It’s a high-pressure scenario, and any mistake might force you to restart. Keep in mind that even players with a Fortnite Crew subscription will find the timer challenging.
The best strategy is to explore the mine before trying to unlock the vault. Be sure to identify all three pipes and doors before you start. It may seem trivial, but I struggled during my initial attempts because I wasn’t well-acquainted with the route, which slowed me down considerably. So, even if you know the general location, it’s critical to move quickly. This is significantly tougher compared to the rewards from the Star Wars collaboration in Fortnite, but the loot is still worthwhile.
How To Open & Enter The Secret Vault In Shiny Shafts
Shiny Shafts Vault Puzzle Solution
To access the secret vault at Shiny Shafts in Fortnite Chapter 6, Season 2, head to the southern part of the mine and follow the grind rails to the first pressure valve. Quickly turn around and hop onto the nearby grind rail. Don’t forget to interact with it right before or as you land to start grinding. Ensure you’re headed in the correct direction to avoid wasting time on adjustments.
If you mess up the jumps, you might want to start over. The time given to open all three pipes is very limited; one slip-up can jeopardize your chances of completing the puzzle. Also, don’t get distracted by enemies, as dealing with them will waste precious time.
The grind rails are the most likely place to lose time due to mine carts. Leap over them a moment earlier than you think you should. That strategy worked for me during my attempts.
Once you navigate past all the mine carts, activate the valve at the end of the grind rail. Then jump over the ledge to reach the floor. Expect to take some damage from this fall, but it’s worth it to save time. Then sprint towards the closest staircase and the pipe wheel. If you stumble and fall through a gap, don’t panic; you can try to jump back up as the ledges are climbable.
When you reach the third pressure valve, turn it to open the door immediately to your left. If you do this correctly, the vault doors will slowly open. If you’re too late, they’ll slightly open and then shut again. The only way to open them again is to successfully solve the puzzle, and you’ll have to start from the beginning without any penalties. Inside, you’ll discover a trove of valuable loot, including Rare Chests, Gold Bars, and powerful weapons.
