Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5: Discover Every Scarecrow Spot

The latest update for Fortnite Season 5 Chapter 4 brings new locations and features in celebration of Fortnitemares. One exciting addition is the Scarecrow, which players can use to hide during matches. With the start of Fortnitemares, new weapons such as the Boom Billy and Chainsaw have been introduced, along with returning favorites like the Pumpkin Launcher and Stake Shotgun. Players can engage in boss battles against Ultima Carver and Saw’s Billy the Puppet, take on challenges inspired by Jigsaw, and discover new or updated points of interest (POIs). For additional stealth, players can also seek refuge in a Scarecrow.

Similar to other hiding spots like Dumpsters or certain Port-a-Potties, players can approach a Scarecrow and interact with it to jump inside and conceal themselves. Many features and locations introduced for Fortnitemares are currently popular drop spots because they are part of quests related to earning Fortnitemares-themed cosmetic rewards. Using a Scarecrow to hide or ambush opponents can provide a strategic advantage. However, unlike the Snowmen from last year’s Winterfest, Scarecrows are fixed and only spawn in specific spots on the map.

All Scarecrow Locations in Fortnite Season 5 Chapter 4

Located in a New Area

As of now, all Scarecrows in Fortnite Season 5 Chapter 4 can be found in Freaky Fields, the new POI that has taken over from Reckless Railways. Freaky Fields resembles previous locations like Frenzy Fields and Frenzy Farms, featuring several barns, silos, a large abandoned farmhouse, and tall wheat fields. You’ll mostly find Scarecrows scattered in and around the wheat fields, predominantly spawning randomly. A few can also be found behind the smaller barns, but the majority are concentrated in the northwest area of this new POI.

The map for Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 5 shows the new Fortnitemares location called Freaky Fields.

Freaky Fields is a popular drop location due to its central position on the map and the spawning of Billy the Puppet, which is part of a limited-time Fortnitemares quest. This high interest is expected to continue until the end of the season, as both Fortnitemares and Freaky Fields remain active until November 2. Players landing here should be cautious of Scarecrows, as an enemy could be hiding, and they should also consider using Scarecrows to their advantage when escaping foes.

Note: Epic Games might include Scarecrows in more POIs in future updates. Players should keep an eye on the Patch Notes or official social media for the latest map changes.

How to Enter a Scarecrow in Fortnite Season 5 Chapter 4

A New Hiding Spot

Players follow the on-screen prompt to press the default use button to hide in a Scarecrow in Fortnite.

To hide in a Scarecrow, just like with other hiding spots in Fortnite, players need to approach these large figures in Freaky Fields. When prompted, press the Use button (F/E/X/Square by Default). If another player is already inside, you won’t be able to enter. While hidden inside a Scarecrow, players retain the item or weapon they had when entering, but they can’t use it until they step out. Like Dumpsters, Scarecrows will occasionally shake, which can give away someone’s presence to watchful opponents.

To exit a Scarecrow, simply press the Use button again when prompted. There is no cooldown for using Scarecrows, and they stay in place even after players leave, so players can enter and exit at will. Alternatively, they can jump on a Witch Broom to make a swift escape. Depending on where the storm zone shrinks as a match comes to a close, Scarecrows can serve as a clever strategy for securing an extra-spooky Victory Royale in Fortnite.
