In the objective “Kill the Executioner” from the quest “The Killing Field” in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, you’ll need to sneak into a camp located west of Amagasaki to eliminate a key target. Since this quest appears early in the game, you likely haven’t fully explored the Izumi Settsu area and may not have any scouts available to assist in locating Nanatsumatsu. To ease your task, I’ll pinpoint the executioner’s location and share strategies for taking him out efficiently.
Finding the Executioner in Assassin’s Creed Shadows
To eliminate the executioner in AC Shadows during “The Killing Field” quest, you must locate him in Nanatsumatsu, which lies directly west of Amagasaki in the Nakayama Peak region of western Izumi Settsu. The map provided will help you navigate this area without relying on any scouts. The executioner, known as Shindo Hiroshii, is at the center of a small camp guarded by samurai soldiers.
When you approach the camp, look for openings in the fence to sneak in, or scale one of the huts. Utilize the nearby bushes and hay bales for cover. Before you move in to eliminate the executioner, it’s wise to take out some of the guards nearby first. You can use whistles to attract and assassinate them from a distance with your kunai. Alternatively, there’s a trench through the camp that allows for stealthy movement right up to your target.
When you assassinate the executioner, though he won’t be killed outright, about two-thirds of his health will be eliminated, easing the subsequent confrontation. Focus on parrying and dodging his attacks to leave him open for weak point assaults that can damage his armor and reduce his health. Once you defeat him, you’ll automatically collect a letter, marking the completion of the Assassin’s Creed Shadows quest “The Killing Field.” If there are any living prisoners left tied up, you’re free to rescue them, although this action won’t yield any extra rewards (but it’s certainly a good deed!).
