In Hello Kitty Island Adventure, you’ll find plenty of exciting locations to discover. Starting from the main islands, you can venture into flowery meadows and more. One of the destinations you can eventually unlock is City Town, which introduces a new character named Usahana.
The journey to reach City Town requires time and effort. By completing a series of quests, you’ll unveil this vibrant city. This guide will focus on how to unlock City Town, specifically by completing two quests: Ship Shape and Into The Fog.
What Quests Do You Need To Complete?
The first quest to tackle in order to open up City Town is Ship Shape, followed by Into The Fog, which will guide you directly to your new destination. Before diving into these quests, however, you will need to complete a number of other tasks.
Below, you can find the complete list of necessary quests, along with their related requirements.
You will also need to achieve friendship level seven with certain characters before you can proceed with Ship Shape.
Once you’ve checked off all the requirements, you’ll be ready to start Ship Shape!
This is quite a bit to accomplish, which is why reaching City Town isn’t something you can do early in the game. Luckily, if you keep your focus on the requirements outlined above, unlocking the new location should happen fairly quickly.
How To Start Ship Shape
To kick things off, locate Badtz-maru, who will point out a boat at the end of the docks near his shop and your cabin. Since Badtz-maru isn’t sure what to do with the boat, you’ll need to find Chococat.
Chococat can be found near his tent with Keroppi, who also noticed the boat. Once you have them both, return to the boat and speak with Chococat. During this interaction, a Blue Figment will appear, intrigued by the boat.
Meet At Hello Kitty Cafe
After examining the boat, head over to the Hello Kitty Cafe with Badtz-maru and Keroppi. Since Hello Kitty is not around, it’s your job to prepare food for the two. Badtz-maru wants a Pumpkin Pie, while Keroppi would like some Milk Bread.
You can find pumpkins in the Spooky Swamp, while the Coral Milk needed for Milk Bread can be sourced from Rainbow Reef.
Once you provide the requested food, Hello Kitty makes an appearance, mentioning she saw the boat. During this conversation, you’ll notice the Pink Figment show up as well. It seems Figments appear whenever someone imagines something related to the boat.
Chococat realizes this too and suggests that the group should try imagining. However, that method doesn’t work, so you’ll need to find Kuromi in the Spooky Swamp.
Meet Kuromi In The Spooky Swamp
Once you find Kuromi, she mentions that a Figment showed up but flew away. Now, your task is to locate this Figment. Fortunately, it’s located just slightly north of where you spoke to Kuromi, and you can hear it making some noise when you’re close by.
After you catch the Figment, return to Chococat at his tent. He’ll engage you in conversation, and it’s now time to combine all three Figments into the Essence of Imagination! You only need the three Figments—no other items required.
With the Essence created, head back to the boat and speak with Badtz-maru. He’ll place the Essence in the boat, and soon, everyone will scatter to prepare for departure. At this point, you’ll need to wait until the next day to continue.
This waiting period refers to a real-world day. Simply sleeping in the game won’t trigger the next part.
How To Start Into The Fog
When the next day arrives, you will be able to initiate Into The Fog. This quest will replace Ship Shape in your quest log, and your first task is to chat with Badtz-maru. He will instruct you to gather everyone back at the boat, specifically Chococat, Keroppi, Cinnamoroll, and Kuromi.
Chococat
First, visit Chococat. He needs to get ready, and you can help by gathering the following items:
- 1x Blank Book
- 3x Mechanism
- 3x Spark
- 3x Woodblock
Once you’ve crafted these items, give them to Chococat.
Keroppi & Cinnamoroll
Keroppi and Cinnamoroll don’t require any items; just locate them and inform them that everyone is meeting at the boat. Typically, Cinnamoroll can be spotted floating in the Seaside Resort plaza during this stage of the quest.
Kuromi
Lastly, you need to get Kuromi on board. She’s not leaving without snacks, so you’ll need to prepare a selection of foods for her:
- 5x Veggie Bread
- 3x Cinnamon Bread
- 1x Mama’s Apple Pie
Meet At The Boat
Once you’ve prepared the last of Kuromi’s snacks, it’s time to return to the boat and set sail for City Town! After reaching the dock, you’ll find yourself in a vibrant city filled with opportunities for exploration. After some dialogue, everyone will split up to explore the area.
You can now visit your friends, with their locations highlighted on the map. Make sure to speak to both groups and then head back to the boat where you initially landed.
Usahana Introduction
Following a bit more conversation, Usahana will make her debut. This is a new character you haven’t met before, and it seems everyone else is already familiar with her. At this point, Kuromi will present you with the pie you made earlier to give to Usahana.
This gesture certainly pleases Usahana! With that, the quest wraps up. You are now free to explore City Town and build your friendship with Usahana. You don’t need to take the boat to return here; simply interact with the mailbox located near Chococat’s previous spot, which can be used for quick teleportation to City Town.
City Town is home to several mailboxes and the Imagination Cafe, an adorable spot for cooking. However, you can only start visiting the cafe once you reach friendship level three with Usahana, so don’t hesitate to start giving her gifts!
