A vintage fighting game from the 1990s is making a comeback on the PS5. The legendary game Tekken will soon be part of the latest installment in the Arcade Archives series.
Developer Hamster announced that Arcade Archives 2 will reintroduce Tekken into its lineup. The game is scheduled to launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 on June 25, 2026, with a price tag of $16.99.
Like many titles in the Arcade Archives collection, Tekken will offer two gameplay modes. The Original Mode includes several new and user-friendly features to give the game a more modern feel, such as difficulty and display options, button remapping, and more. The second option, Time Attack Mode, challenges players to complete the game as quickly as possible.
The Arcade Archives series aims to faithfully recreate classic arcade titles, bringing many nostalgic games back to life for contemporary audiences.
Originally launched in 1994 by Namco, Tekken ignited a franchise that remains popular to this day. It was Namco’s answer to Virtua Fighter, designed by Seiichi Ishii, who previously worked on Virtua Fighter during his time at Sega.
