How to Obtain All Journals in Clair Obscur
You Need All of Esquie’s Abilities to Collect Every Journal
To gather every journal in Clair Obscur, you’ll need access to Esquie’s full range of abilities, including his underwater diving skill, which you can unlock by leveling your relationship with him to Level 6. You’ll also need to navigate to an area called Renoir’s Drafts, leading to The Abyss, a challenging endgame location with the final boss, Simon. Make sure to be adequately leveled and prepared before confronting Simon. Once defeated, you’ll be able to collect the Simon journal.
Simon drops the Simoso weapon, which features a Level 20 upgrade that prevents Verso from dying if at least Rank A is achieved, making it one of the best options for players who struggle with dodging or parrying.
You will also need to enter The Reacher tower area to locate the door for the Manor to obtain Unknown Journal #2. For Unknown Journal #3, fly up to the Canvas area in Act 3 to find the required quest item. The missing canvas portrait from the Manor can be returned to its frame to access the journal in The Painting Room. Overall, these journals can be among the most challenging to locate, but once you collect them, you will earn the “Follow the Trail” trophy in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33.
