You can upgrade your stats at any Nexus Point, provided you’ve gathered enough Lacrima. Although you can reset them using Primeval Regression Orbs, these items tend to be expensive, so it’s wise to make thoughtful investments in your stats.

When starting out, you might find it difficult to settle on a particular weapon, and your preference may change as you obtain new weapons and face tougher bosses in The First Berserker: Khazan. Fortunately, there’s some overlap between stats and their scaling effects on weapons, allowing for some flexibility in weapon choice without a complete stat reset.

If you have yet to choose a specific weapon type, Vitality and Endurance are solid stats that won’t limit your weapon choices. These stats are essential for improving your performance in challenging battles. Investing in Vitality early on is highly recommended, especially as you prepare for the Blade Phantom boss. While all stats contribute to your maximum health, Vitality has the most significant impact, enhancing attack power and overall resistances. Endurance is also crucial, as managing your stamina effectively is vital in combat.

Endurance is the only stat that directly increases your maximum stamina, making it invaluable.

Vitality and Endurance should be prioritized in your upgrades while playing The First Berserker: Khazan, and continue to invest in them as you progress. Health and stamina are crucial for any combat scenario, and once your health and stamina are sufficiently enhanced, you can shift your focus to weapon-scaling stats.

If you’re focusing on Dual Wield and Greatsword builds, Strength will be essential, though it also benefits the Spear by enhancing overall attack damage more than the other weapon-specific stats. Strength also helps decrease stamina damage taken during encounters. Both the Dual Wield and Spear rely on Willpower, which minimizes stamina loss when blocking attacks. Lastly, the Greatsword and Spear benefit from Proficiency, reducing stamina costs associated with dodging.

Your choice of weapon stats will largely depend on your preferred weapon. Personally, I favor the Spear and invested heavily in Endurance and Proficiency for enhanced dodging abilities during the early phases. Sticking with the Spear shaped my primary stats to be Willpower and Proficiency, supplemented by Endurance for greater stamina management. However, given the stat overlaps, both Dual Wield and Greatsword options remain viable throughout the game in The First Berserker: Khazan.
