While you might play through the whole game and never encounter Dragon Orbs, learning how to obtain them can be rewarding. Farming them requires significant time and effort, but they are invaluable when facing some of the tougher sections of Sparking! Zero, as they significantly ease these challenging encounters.
What Are Dragon Orbs Used For?
Dragon Orbs are particularly beneficial for players struggling with the more difficult aspects of the game. They are primarily used to tackle the "what-if" scenarios associated with Secondary Clear Conditions. These optional objectives often entail specific tasks or time-related challenges that can be quite demanding. By using Dragon Orbs, you can lower the match difficulty, making it easier to complete these conditions. However, keep in mind that each orb is consumed upon use.
It’s important to note that using a Dragon Orb doesn’t count as a victory in the traditional sense. This means you won’t earn Zeni or gain unlockable items from the battle. Thus, it’s advisable to save Dragon Orbs for alternative story paths rather than main fights, as the primary paths yield characters and other valuable unlockables.
How to Use Dragon Orbs
You can utilize Dragon Orbs exclusively during story missions in Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero. When accessing a mission, simply select “Use Orb” at the bottom of the screen, assuming you have an orb in your inventory. Once you use an orb, it will be taken from your stock, but the mission will become significantly easier to complete, allowing you to reap the rewards once it’s done.
Tip: Since Dragon Orbs are scarce, reserve them for missions you find particularly challenging and use them only for alternative paths. Completing main missions can provide all the necessary rewards.
How to Obtain More Dragon Orbs
To gain additional Dragon Orbs in Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero, players must rely on the wishes granted by Shenron, Super Shenron, or Porunga. Unfortunately, there’s no shop in the game where you can purchase them. After collecting all the Dragon Balls, summon a dragon and make the wish for "I want to complete an Episode Battle." This will award you a Dragon Orb to use at your discretion.
Keep in mind that the dragons in Dragon Ball Z games have a set number of wishes they can fulfill, and Dragon Ball Sparking! Zero adheres to this rule. Apart from Porunga, each dragon can grant this specific wish only once, meaning you’ll need to collect Dragon Balls repeatedly for more Dragon Orbs. This can be a tedious task, so use them wisely. You wouldn’t want to find yourself stuck on a challenging mission with no orbs left because they were wasted on easier tasks.
