Monster Hunter Wilds offers a fresh take compared to earlier titles in the franchise. With its expansive regions, dynamic quests, and an ever-changing weather system, the game introduces new exploration opportunities and diverse material collection methods. Remember, materials can be found beyond just battling monsters.
The various regions are packed with items, including some that can only be found in specific areas and during particular weather conditions. One such item is the Thundering Fulgurite, which hints at its lightning-filled origins. Let’s dive into the process of locating it and how to utilize it effectively.
How To Obtain Thundering Fulgurite
The Thundering Fulgurite, unlike its Fulgurite counterparts, can only be found in the Windward Plains. However, it cannot be gathered from the same spots as other types and is exclusive to the Sandtide weather phase. Despite being supercharged by lightning, this doesn’t ensure its availability.
To collect Thundering Fulgurite, you need to be in the Windward Plains during Sandtide. Additionally, you must wait for the Thundering Fulgurite Emergence event, which occurs randomly. This may require some patience, as you could find yourself waiting in your tent for the event to start. Keep trying this routine, and eventually, it will appear.
You can check the upcoming events for the next hour via the Environment Overview tab on the map. Make sure to do this, as the event might be starting soon.
Once the event occurs, check your map for the Fulgurite Vein gathering point, where you can find the needed Thundering Fulgurite. Note that, unlike other gathering spots, this one doesn’t have a 15-minute cooldown and can only be gathered from once. Equipping the Geologist skill is advisable since it increases the number of items you can collect.
Uses of Thundering Fulgurite
You don’t need to venture far for trades, as the locals in Kunafa are eager to exchange some of their prized possessions for it. This can lead to rare finds like the Rey Dau Plate and Sharp Kunafa Cheese. These are exceptional items, so make a point to collect Thundering Fulgurite whenever you notice an emergence event.
Don’t forget to activate a Gathering Boost before trading to maximize your items received from a single Thundering Fulgurite.
