Atomfall features a vibrant cast of characters, extensive quests, and a multitude of choices to explore. However, figuring out how to complete these quests, whom to trust, and which decisions to make can sometimes be a challenge. But don’t worry; this guide is here to assist you.
In the main storyline led by Mother Jago, she will ask you to find her book in the Castle Ruins. This task can be easily overlooked, so be sure to carefully follow the instructions and accompanying screenshots provided below. Even after retrieving the book, you’ll still need guidance on how to respond to her offer once you return it to her.

Mother Jago Wants Her Book Back Walkthrough
Thoroughly Explore the Castle Ruins
Head all the way to the southwest area known as Castle Ruins (19.6E 83.7N). Be prepared, as this area is teeming with enemies; make sure to bring buffs and ammunition, or approach combat carefully with melee attacks. Once you enter the castle, follow the “Mother Jago Wants Her Book Back” lead.
Take your first left (if you go straight and see several stacks of towels at the end of the hallway, you’ll know you’re on the right path). Turn right and check the counter on your left where you’ll find the Castle Key. Proceed to the banquet hall and use the Castle Key on the Hidden Keyhole located to the right of the empty fireplace (behind the large chair with a body in front of it).
If you found Mother Jago to be a bit strange during your initial encounter, you may have been onto something. Nevertheless, assisting her can lead to valuable rewards in the form of Training Stimulants.
Head directly west into a room filled with candles to discover Mother Jago’s Book placed on a table (refer to the image at the top of this page). After exiting the Castle Ruins, return to Mother Jago with the book. Regardless of your actions, you’ll receive a reward of 3 Training Stimulants.
Should You Accept Mother Jago’s Help or Reject Her?
Who Doesn’t Appreciate Extra Training Stimulants?
Afterward, Mother Jago will inquire if you wish to escape your suffering. If you decline, you’ll simply part ways amicably; if you agree, the quest “Jago Gives Me an Offering for the Speaking Cave” will be added to your “Mother Jago” tasks. Despite any warnings you may have heard in the telephone booth regarding Mother Jago, this path ultimately leads to more Training Stimulants—which is the real goal here. To summarize, it’s wise to assist her, if only for the potential benefits.
If you sensed that something was off about Mother Jago during your first encounter in Atomfall, your instincts may very well be correct. However, assisting her grants you valuable rewards through Training Stimulants. As is often the case in RPGs, saying “no” tends to lead to less interesting or less rewarding outcomes.
