In Chapter Six of Season One, Fortnite unveiled charming little magical creatures known as Sprites that aid players during combat. There are three varieties of Sprites, each offering different benefits when thrown. Water Sprites help restore health and shields to nearby teammates, Air Sprites provide a new mobility option for the season by creating updrafts that allow players to soar, and Earth Sprites— which players cannot pick up—offer rewards when fed specific items.
Players can carry these Sprites with them to utilize their unique abilities or return them to Sprite Shrines for valuable loot. Knowing where to find these Sprites can significantly enhance gameplay.
Locations of All Sprites in Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1
Look for the Light After Jumping from the Battle Bus
Sprites are scattered across the Fortnite map in this season. Personally, I’ve discovered mostly Water and Air Sprites, along with an occasional Earth Sprite. I prefer the Water Sprites due to their ability to restore health and shields. Many Sprites can be found near points of interest, but some pop up in open areas as well. The Sprite Shrines are helpful in locating these creatures, and you can spot them after jumping from the Battle Bus—just keep an eye out for the light they shine from above.
Once you come across a Sprite Shrine, interact with it to reveal the whereabouts of nearby Sprites. While Sprites won’t appear on the map, you’ll see them in the overworld. Follow the marker that shows up to locate them, and you can pick them up to carry with you. Throwing them down gives you a temporary bonus, but returning them to their Shrines yields better rewards.
Many players will rush to these Shrines at the beginning of the game, so stay vigilant and be prepared for combat.
There are multiple Sprite Shrines throughout Fortnite, identifiable by the light they emit. If you’re trying to locate all the Sprite Shrines and Sprites, here’s a list of places I’ve found:
- Burd, East
- Canyon Crossing, Northeast
- Demon’s Dojo, Southern Lake
- Hopeful Heights, Northeast and Northwest
- Lost Lake, North and Northeast
- Magic Mosses, North, East, and West
- Masked Meadows, North
- Nightshift Forest, East and South
- Shogun’s Solitude, Northwest
- Twinkle Terrace, Northeast
- Warrior’s Watch, North and Southwest
- Whiffy Wharf, Southeast
I’ve noticed that specific landing spots tend to yield more of certain types of Sprites. For instance, I find more Water Sprites in snowy and wooded regions like Demon’s Dojo and Magic Mosses. Air Sprites tend to show up in places like Magic Mosses and Nightshift Forest. Earth Sprites are a bit harder to come by, but I have spotted a few near Demon’s Dojo. Keep an eye out for NPCs as well—they appear in various locations and sell useful items to enhance your gameplay.
Returning Sprites for Great Rewards
While carrying cute Sprites around can provide short-term benefits through their unique effects, it’s more advantageous in the long run to return them to their Shrines for better rewards. Utilizing them by throwing them down often results in losing them, but bringing them back to their Shrines grants you bonuses you can keep for the duration of the match.
One of these rewards is the Boon, which functions similarly to the Augments from Fortnite’s Chapter Four. Boons provide a lasting upgrade that can assist you in battle. To return Sprites to the shrines, interact with one to detect nearby Sprites, track them down, and then return to the Shrine. Interacting with the Shrine while holding a Sprite yields loot. Just note that this applies only to Air and Water Sprites, as Earth Sprites cannot be picked up. Returning Air and Water Sprites ensures a random Boon.
Boons come in four varieties: Fire, Water, Wind, and Void, each bestowing a unique perk that can be beneficial against Fortnite’s latest bosses and other players.
Boon Type | Effect |
---|---|
Fire Boon | Reloads weapons faster. |
Water Boon | Restores health and shields to holders and teammates while swimming. |
Wind Boon | Increases movement speed while holding a pickaxe. |
Void Boon | Reveals nearby enemy players after eliminating one. |
Gathering all four Boons will make you a formidable opponent on the battlefield. Their combined effects provide a significant advantage over other players. To maximize your benefits, visit Sprite Shrines early and collect as many Boons as possible to dominate Fortnite’s Chapter Six, Season One.
