The “The Gig” mission in Cyberpunk 2077 might be brief, but it can certainly be puzzling. Essentially, you just need to pass the time while waiting in Night City until you can collect your rewards from Wakako and Cassius Ryder. If you’re early in the game and feeling stuck, you’re not alone. Here’s what you need to do to move the story along, along with a note about a common glitch you might encounter during this mission.
Understanding Cyberpunk 2077: The Gig
To start, you’ll need to wait until the lockdown is lifted. This is straightforward; just continue playing the game by tackling other storylines and side quests until you get notified that the lockdown in Watson has ended. Once that happens, you can explore the rest of the world, including Heywood, City Center, and the Badlands. You’ll know it’s lifted when your objective for The Gig updates.
Next, travel to Wakako, the fixer on Jig-Jig Street in Japantown. Have a chat with her about the payment she owes you for Sandra Dorsett, and she’ll reward you with a few thousand eddies. She’ll also instruct you to visit Cassius Ryder’s ripperdoc shop to claim another reward: a dermal implant that enhances smart-gun compatibility.
The “Tattoo: Tyger Claws Dermal Imprint” should be listed for free in the Hands section of Ryder’s shop. Once you grab it, you can leave the store, and that completes The Gig mission.
Keep in mind that during my first playthrough, I encountered a glitch making the objective unresponsive the whole time. Fortunately, the reward isn’t particularly valuable, so don’t stress too much if you run into the same issue.
