If you haven’t witnessed the fun of grape stomping for winemaking, get ready to see your Sims jump into the A Pressing Feeling machine with their handpicked fruits in The Sims to whip up some “nectar,” a charming substitute for wine in the game.
Creating nectar isn’t just about having fresh fruits; you’ll also need to enhance your Cooking skills to maximize your profits from selling your homemade beverages. There are four varieties of nectar to explore in The Sims: Makin’ Magic is where you’ll get started.
Turn Fruits into Nectar
Since this is a family-friendly game, you won’t come across anything directly labeled as alcohol, but nectar serves as a delightful alternative. Your Sims can make this at home using the A Pressing Feeling nectar machine found in the buy mode. For each batch of fruit nectar, simply combine two pieces of fruit with one serving of sugar; the recipes are straightforward.
The primary fruits you’ll want are elderberries and grapes. You can purchase these in Magic Town using your spellcasting currency or grow them in your yard with a special gardening plot. Another key ingredient for crafting nectar is sugar, which you can pick up from any general goods stand. If you’re frequently visiting Magic Town for supplies, make use of the shortcut hole that came with your home; it’ll save you time and money, especially if living far from Magic Town.
To produce nectar, simply place your items from the inventory into the A Pressing Feeling machine following the recipes in the table below. You’ll see your Sim press the nectar, and once it’s completed, you can interact with the press again to either sell your nectar—where the selling price will rise as your Cooking skill advances—or store it in the Taste of the Vine Nectar Bar.
Additionally, there’s a unique recipe for Magic Nectar, which briefly turns any Sim who drinks it into a ghost. You won’t find this recipe in your book until you’ve made it for the first time, so make sure to use the recipe below to add it to your collection.
