Once you’ve gained access to the Fiery Planes area of Mythopia in the Storybook Vale expansion of Disney Dreamlight Valley, a new quest will be available to you. This brings you closer to finishing a Mythic Trial. Remember, you must first complete the one in the Elysian Fields, but you’ll have the flexibility to tackle the other two trials in any order.
The process for the remaining Mythic Trials is quite similar to the one you went through to unlock Hades in Disney Dreamlight Valley. Initially, you’ll need to complete a quest to activate the portal. For the Fiery Planes, this involves upgrading your Watering Can so you can extinguish the flames and access the lever. After this, enter the portal to begin The Promethean Flame quest.
### How to Begin The Promethean Flame Quest in Disney Dreamlight Valley
#### The First Torch – Center
Once you enter the Mythic Trial, pull the lever in front of you, allowing you to cross the bridge and speak with Hades. He’ll tell you that you need to help him light three torches for this specific trial. It may sound different, but it’s the same basic task as the previous Mythic Trials—you’ll simply be pushing carts to position the torches.
Fortunately, the first torch is straightforward and doesn’t involve any puzzles. To your left, you’ll notice a torch cart attached to a short pathway. Push the cart, and it will lock into place and light automatically. You’ll follow this same method for the next two torches, but they’ll need a little extra effort.
#### The Second Torch – Right Side
To light the second torch, head to the right side of the Mythic Trial, where you’ll find a gate leading down some steps. Go down the steps to a lever that will lower a bridge visible at the top of your screen. Return up the stairs and immediately turn right toward the bridge you just lowered. At the end of this bridge, there is a pedestal with a riddle suggesting you need to water the mechanism attached to it.
Take out your watering can and water the indicated mechanism to activate the pedestal.
After this, you can choose to go left or right, both leading to puzzles you’ll need to solve. For this task, go right where you’ll see a light leading to a couple of gates blocking a cart with a torch. If you take the stairs on the side to the platform above the gates, you’ll find a lever to open them using your Royal Net tool.
Once the gates are open, head back down the stairs. Since you can’t fit through the gate with the cart, break the rocks blocking the other gate and maneuver around to the back of the cart. From there, just push the cart along the newly cleared path until it reaches the final pedestal, where it will light automatically.
#### The Final Torch – Left Side
Now there’s just one torch left. To access it, return to the pedestal that needed watering but instead of turning right, go left. As you walk down this path, you’ll pass a lever on your left—activate it to lower a bridge. After the bridge is down, continue along the path to the back corner where the cart with the last torch is located. Before pushing the cart, lower the bridge next to it by interacting with the lever.
Cross the bridge to discover a treasure chest and another pedestal that also needs watering. Water the mechanism to activate it, and now all the pedestals should be illuminated by a connecting light beam. Finally, head back to the cart and push it along the designated path until it lights the last torch.
### Completing the Mythic Trial
After successfully lighting the last torch, return to Hades. He’ll confirm that you’ve completed the task he assigned. Interact with the flickering purple flames behind him to exit the Mythic Trial. You’ll witness a brief cutscene where another torch ignites, accompanied by the opening of the gates to Olympus—if this was your final Mythic Trial. Following a short conversation with Hades, you’ll have completed The Promethean Flame quest.
If you haven’t already done so, you can then tackle the last Mythic Trial in the Statues Shadow or venture over to the Everafter to finish any remaining Fairy Tale Trials. Regardless of your choice, you’ll be making progress in completing part one of the Storybook Vale expansion in Disney Dreamlight Valley.
