King Thordan Fight Guide
This encounter consists of two main phases followed by a final ‘ending’ phase. Below is a detailed breakdown of each phase.
Phase 1
In the first phase, King Thordan will employ various attacks and mechanics, which include the following:
Attack Name |
Type |
Details |
---|---|---|
Ascalon’s Mercy |
Conal AoE |
Inflicts damage in three conical areas in front of King Thordan, causing Windburn which deals damage over time. Step outside the AoE markers to avoid it. |
Ancient Quaga |
Roomwide AoE |
Harms all party members. Ensure AoE healing is available to recover. |
Lightning Storm |
Circular AoEs |
Targets multiple players with circular AoEs. Spread out to prevent overlaps that can hit others. |
Meteorain |
Circular AoEs |
Right after Lightning Storm, several additional circular AoEs appear across the arena. Move out of the indicators to avoid damage. |
Knights of the Round |
Special |
King Thordan summons members of the Knights Twelve to execute various attacks, including:
|
The Dragon’s Eye |
Buff |
Grants King Thordan a Damage Up buff and enhances his next Ascalon’s Mercy, leading to additional AoEs. |
The Dragon’s Gaze |
Gaze Attack |
Following The Dragon’s Eye, this attack deals damage and inflicts Terror on any player who looks at Thordan when it completes. Look away from Thordan before the cast finishes to avoid the debuff. |
Thordan will repeat these attacks until he is at around 15 percent health, at which point he will vanish and phase two will start.
Phase 2
During phase two, you will engage each of the Knights Twelve and manage their unique mechanics. They come in a specific order, outlined below:
- Ser Charibert and Ser Hermenost: Charibert generates three rows of three circular AoEs, while Hermenost deploys three absorbable pillars just like in phase one.
- Ser Zephirin: Casts Sacred Cross, dealing damage based on his health percentage. If his health is reduced to one before the cast finishes, it will inflict minimal damage to the party.
- Ser Vellguine: Executes a line AoE like in the previous phase.
- Ser Adelphel and Ser Janlenoux: Attack together using Holiest of Holy for party-wide damage and Holy Bladedance for heavy damage to their primary target.
- Ser Ignasse: Delivers damage through a proximity AoE. Move away from the proximity marker to minimize damage.
- Ser Paulecrain and Ser Haumeric: Paulecrain will lock onto one player with a tracking line AoE, while Haumeric targets players with ice AoEs that form puddles causing Leaden and Frostbite, which slows movement speed while dealing damage over time.
- Ser Grinnaux: Creates four growing AoEs. Avoid these as they expand.
- Ser Noudenet: Spawns several Comet Circles along the edges of the arena and a Meteor Circle in the center. Destroy these to prevent meteors from falling and causing damage.
- Ser Guerrique: During the meteor segment, he will deal damage in a cascading conal AoE, with a safe spot directly behind him.
Once the Comet and Meteor Circles are dealt with, Thordan and the Knights Twelve will return to cast Ultimate End, dealing damage to the party. Ensure your team is ready for AoE healing as the fight transitions into its final phase.
Phase 3
In this final phase, Thordan will receive a Damage Down debuff and will only utilize weak auto attacks. Focus on delivering enough damage to finish off his last few health points, concluding the encounter.
