Connecting Water Pump and Filter in Planet Coaster 2: A Guide

In Planet Coaster 2, your main task is to create thrilling roller coasters, but don’t overlook the potential of water park features to enhance your amusement park. Adding pools brings a vibrant and exciting element to your park, especially when paired with fun rides. So, how do you construct a pool and attract visitors to it?

This guide will help you create your own pools and maintain their operations to boost your revenue. Plus, we’ll provide tips on incorporating slides and rides to elevate your park’s appeal!

What Do You Need To Build A Pool?

Building pools in Planet Coaster 2 is straightforward, but if you’re unsure where to start, it might take a little experimentation. To create a pool, simply access the pool tab in the browser.

You can choose a pre-designed pool or create your own. Either way, ensure you have the necessary components for the pool to function effectively and remain accessible to guests.

  • Water Filter: Keeps the pool water clean.
  • Water Pump: Circulates the water for filtration.
  • Lifeguard Stations: Ensures guest safety with adequate lifeguard presence.
  • Guest Services: Allows visitors to purchase access to the pool features.
  • Body Dryer: Provides a way for guests to dry off after swimming.
  • Changing Rooms: Offers a private space for guests to change into swimwear.

These features are essential to keep your guests happy and engaged with the pool. You can find the filtration system in the utilities tab and various facilities in the facilities tab.

Consider hiring extra lifeguards to cover shifts and breaks.

All other required features can be found in the pool extras section of the pool tab.

Be sure to connect the water filter and pump to ensure they operate properly, and make sure there’s sufficient power. You can do this by selecting the custom option in utilities, then choosing add water pipe.

Connect the components similarly to how you would link a power generator with a distributor, ensuring the pool is within range of the power source. Once set up, the pool will operate autonomously until maintenance is required.

Remember to schedule regular maintenance to prevent the pool from being closed or neglected by guests!

How To Build A Custom Pool

To create a custom pool, select the create custom option in the pool menu. This opens up the pool tools sidebar, where you can choose the size, shape, and path of the pool. You can also adjust the depth to make it suitable for wading, swimming, or diving.

Use the rounding tool to smooth out any sharp edges by aligning the brush with corners and walls.

Clicking on the color palette icon gives you further customization options for your pool’s look, such as tile patterns and borders. In the third tab, accessible between the color palette and the bulldozer tool, you can adjust settings for a lazy river, provided you have water jets set up in the pool.

How To Build Flume Rides

Building the end piece of a flume ride in a pool.

Flume rides add an exciting twist to your pool area. As you advance in the game, you’ll unlock several options. Flumes can begin at any point in your park but must safely end in the water.

The drop height for these rides is flexible; just make sure they hit the water for safety. Get creative!

Two primary types of flumes are available from the outset. The first is the body slide, which is open on all sides and follows a straight path without twists. However, guests find it still enjoyable.

The second option is the body flume, featuring a traditional water slide design with an enclosed tube and numerous curves. This option is pricier but provides greater creative flexibility, including loops and steep drops.

Regardless of which flume ride you choose, remember to install an end piece in or above the pool before testing the ride like you would with a coaster.
