Fields of Mistria is packed with activities to fill your day. You can farm, manage a ranch, mine for resources, fish, or even woo that quirky archaeologist. With so many options, you might find yourself wishing for a bit more time in each day. Fortunately, you have the chance to extend your days!
In a recent update, an accessibility settings menu was introduced, allowing you to change how long a day lasts in the game. However, the explanation isn’t as straightforward as you might hope. We’ve simplified the details and offered some alternatives if you’re still looking for more.
How to Change the Day Speed in the Settings
To adjust the day length, open the in-game pause menu, navigate to the Settings tab, and select the Accessibility section. At the top, you will see an option labeled Day Time Speed. Click on that, and you’ll be given three choices: Normal, Longer, and Longest.
Important: This setting can only be adjusted once you have loaded into your save game; it is not available in the main menu.
Each speed option changes the overall duration of a day as follows. Please note that changes will only take effect after you sleep and start a new day.
Setting | Duration |
---|---|
Normal | 12.5 Minute Days |
Longer | 14 Minute Days |
Longest | 15 Minute Days |
Time durations are approximate.
The game warns that non-playable character (NPC) schedules are based on normal time. However, during our experience with the extended options, we observed little to no difference in our interactions with NPCs.
Mods That Change the Day Speed
If the time settings in the base game aren’t quite enough for you, there are community mods available, such as the Time of Mistria mod by ArchieOwO. These mods let you tweak the time settings even further, potentially slowing down time to the point that it doesn’t advance at all!
Keep in mind that installing mods can be a little complicated, and there’s no assurance they will continue to work following updates to the game. Proceed with caution if you decide to explore this option.
