The streets of Hyland Point are sparse and heavily patrolled in Schedule 1, but there’s one thing that definitely outnumbers the officers: the trash littering the sidewalks. Every day, more refuse appears, from unmarked soda cans to bongs and leftover weed leaves from careless users.
Of course, you could just ignore the litter and let it accumulate like many others do. But why not take advantage of it? You could collect it and turn it in for cash. As an aspiring dealer, you need every dollar to build your empire, so why not start picking up that trash?
Schedule 1 is currently in Early Access on Steam, so details in this article may change over time.
How to Get the Trash Grabber
The Trash Grabber is simply a better version of Trash Bags, though it’s still a good idea to keep a few Trash Bags around just in case. These grabbers offer a one-time investment for a lot more utility both inside and outside your base. They can hold more trash compared to a regular Trash Bag, especially if you have more than one, and allow for faster cleanup.
To get your hands on one, head over to Dan’s Hardware located in the upper left corner of the map and ask to buy something from him. The Trash Grabber will be listed at the bottom of the options, costing only 20 dollars each, which is a better deal compared to spending on multiple Trash Bags.
Dumping full Trash Bags and Trash Grabbers into cash-for-trash machines is a smart way to earn some money early in the game while your dealing becomes more established.
How to Use the Trash Grabber
Using the Trash Grabber is very similar to picking up trash by hand. Just hit the Interact key while aiming at a piece of trash to pick it up, and it will be added to the Trash Grabber’s inventory.
A great spot to find a lot of trash at once is the canal behind the motel, which gets messy every day and is near several Cash For Trash machines.
Each Trash Grabber in your possession will take up one inventory slot, but these can hold between 5 to 20 pieces of trash, depending on the size of the items you’re collecting:
- Small items occupy 5 percent of space, including cigarettes, empty soil bags, and empty seed vials.
- Most items are medium-sized and take up 10 or 15 percent of space, such as coffee cups, soda cans, cigarette boxes, weed leaves, and water bottles.
- Large items use 20 percent of space, which includes bongs and gasoline cans.
When your Trash Grabber is full, find the nearest Cash For Trash machine, open the hatch, and hold the Interact key to begin dumping its contents into the machine. Finally, just press the button to collect your cash as usual.
Be sure to stand close to the machine and hold the Trash Grabber up high when dumping its contents; otherwise, items may spill onto the ground, requiring you to pick them up again.
