The Mages’ Guild storyline in The Elder Scrolls 4: Oblivion Remastered takes a dark turn with the quest titled A Plot Revealed. As the necromancer guild gains confidence, the Arcane University Council faces chaos over how to respond, forcing you to navigate their uncertainty.
As the Council meets to decide on their next steps, the Bruma Mages’ Guild becomes unusually quiet. Players who recall their journey with the guild might remember Jeanne Frisoric, the charming leader, along with her playful crew. What has caused this once boisterous group to suddenly go silent?
How to Start A Plot Revealed
To trigger this quest, complete all prior quests associated with the Arcane University:
- A Mage’s Staff
- Ulterior Motives
- Vahtacen’s Secret
- Necromancer’s Moon
- Liberation or Apprehension?
- Information at a Price
After completing these quests, you’ll need to wait two to three days before talking to Archmage Traven.
When he is ready to give you the next assignment, his dialogue will indicate that the University is in chaos. Suggest that you can head out now to check on Jeanne Frisoric in Bruma.
Before you embark on this quest, consider buying the Summon Deadra Lord spell from Volarno if you want to learn it later. He’s the only one selling this tome and won’t be available once the quest starts. Additionally, Selene Orania will no longer be a vendor.
How to Locate Jeanne Frisoric
Make your way to the Bruma Mages’ Guild immediately. Upon arrival, you’ll see that you’re too late—the guild is ablaze and swarming with summoned, necromancy-influenced foes. Eliminate any skeletons you encounter inside.
Be cautious; these skeletons can be tough due to their numbers and the cramped space. It’s advisable to cast a defense spell, like Shield or Dragonskin, before entering the fray.
Interact with Selene Orania’s body in the main room, and check Volarno’s on the staircase to the right. After examining both corpses, proceed into the mage’s quarters.
This area is swarming with skeletons, so be prepared to fend off multiple enemies as you enter.
Continue through the quarters and exit through the door on the other side. Once outside, head upstairs to confront the necromancer, Camilla Lollia.
She will attack you, boasting about her victory at the guild and her master’s orders. Defeat Camilla, and J’skar the Khajiit will show up in the corner.
J’skar cannot be killed during this quest; he can only be knocked out, so there’s no need to worry if you hit him.
Speak with J’skar and inquire about the Worm. Once you’ve obtained all the necessary information, interact with Jeanne Frisoric’s corpse.
After gathering everything, head back to the Arcane University for now.
J’skar will probably arrive at the University before you. However, he won’t have anything new to share and seems to believe he’s still at the Bruma Guild.
Inform Archmage Traven about the situation in Bruma, and he will mention needing a few days to discuss matters with the Council.
Unlike before, you won’t have to wait several days for your next assignment. However, you must speak with Raminus Polus to advance your Wizard status.
This will unlock a special spell:
Once you have this spell, you can talk to Archmage Traven for two new quests.
