In the expansive magical world of Runescape: Dragonwilds, a crafting survival game, gear is categorized into tiers. As you acquire higher-tier weapons and armor, you’ll notice a significant boost in your damage output while reducing the damage you take from foes. This becomes crucial when exploring high-level zones.
To craft this top-tier equipment, you first need to gather materials from perilous areas. One essential material is Hard Leather, which can be quite challenging to obtain if you don’t have the right strategy.
Runescape: Dragonwilds is currently in Early Access on Steam, and the information in this piece may change as the game develops.
How to Create Hard Leather
Before you can create Hard Leather, you’ll need to set up two important structures in your home: the Tannery and the Tanner’s Kit. The Tannery is a basic structure that requires Ash Logs, Animal Bones, and Coarse Thread to build. The Tanner’s Kit, however, becomes available only after you obtain some Bronze Bars.
To craft the Tanner’s Kit, you will need six Bronze Bars, eight Coarse Threads, six Adhesives, and 18 Ash Planks. You can obtain Ash Planks by creating a Sawmill and processing Ash Logs. Adhesive can be made in a kiln by using Swamp Tar. Once you have all the supplies, place the Tanner’s Kit in your building, and the Tannery menu will update.
With the Tanner’s Kit, you’ll be able to place two items in the Tannery—this step is essential for producing Hard Leather.
After upgrading, start by creating standard Leather using any Hide paired with additional Adhesive. You’ll get one Hard Leather for every two Leather and one Adhesive you place in the Tannery. Since you’ll need a good amount of Hard Leather for crafting superior armor, it’s wise to gather plenty of animal hides beforehand.
