This quest is available as part of the Knights of the Nine DLC and can be started right after finishing the tutorial. As the name implies, you must seek out and pray at the wayshrines dedicated to each diety located throughout the imperial province.
How to Begin the Pilgrimage Quest
Unlike most quests, the Pilgrimage quest can be initiated right after you escape the imperial sewers following the emperor’s demise. You will need to speak with any NPC to gather rumors, which usually will lead you to hear about the attack on the Chapel of Dibella in Anvil.
Once you dig deeper into these rumors, you’ll learn about a Prophet who can be found outside the Chapel of Dibella in Anvil. Your task will be to ask him what transpired during the chapel’s attack.
When you arrive at Anvil, you’ll easily see the Prophet positioned by the chapel. Speaking with him will provide you with crucial information regarding Umaril, Pelinal Whitestrake, and he’ll explain that Umaril, once thought dead, has returned.
Pilgrimage Quest Walkthrough
If you seek more details about the attack on the chapel, the Prophet will inform you that the only way to defeat the resurrected Umaril is to use the weaponry of the Divine Crusader.
In the past, only Pelinal Whitestrake was able to wield this powerful weaponry, and now that he’s no longer around, no one can confront Umaril. If you choose to express your intent to search for the relics, the Prophet will pose a key question: “Are you a worthy knight?”
Should you respond negatively, saying you hold no significance, the Prophet will suggest that if you are truly worthy, you’ll find the relics on your own during your journey. However, admitting that you have no claim to fame will lead the Prophet to present you with a map of the wayshrines.
Don’t worry about making incorrect dialogue choices here. The Prophet will ask you the same question repeatedly each time you inquire about the relics.
The Prophet will ask you to pray at the wayshrines dedicated to each of the nine divines throughout the imperial province. If you are truly worthy, you will receive a vision from the gods. You can check your inventory for the map of the wayshrines in the miscellaneous section to help locate them.
Each divine has multiple wayshrines, but only one is marked on your map. Finding a wayshrine you haven’t prayed at yet will still count towards your progress in the quest.
