After you finish the tutorial, Oblivion Remastered really opens up. The vast landscape of Cyrodiil is yours to explore, and there’s no wrong way to play the game. However, getting involved with the game’s factions is a smart choice, and the Mages Guild is an excellent option, even if you don’t see yourself as a skilled spell-caster. Regardless of your character’s focus, joining the Mages Guild has its benefits.
This guide aims to help you get started with the Mages Guild in Oblivion Remastered. It won’t cover everything in detail, as you’ll quickly find that the quests come pouring in once you join, and the advantages of being a member will become clear!
How to Join the Mages Guild
Joining the Mages Guild is incredibly straightforward in Oblivion Remastered. Every city, except for the Imperial City, has a chapter of the Mages Guild, and you can go to any chapter to sign up.
The joining process is simple: walk into a Mages Guild chapter, talk to the leader, and accept the position. That’s all there is to it! However, as you progress through the Mages Guild storyline, you’ll visit each of the seven chapters to collect recommendations from their leaders.
Once you gather all these recommendations, you’ll be able to enter the Arcane University in the Imperial City. This opens up a whole new range of possibilities, but there are plenty of reasons to join the guild right away, including access to a bed that is always available and other valuable items.
