In the game Blue Prince, most rooms can be accessed simply by navigating the layout and exploring. However, some rooms are only reachable by using a key or by solving one of the manor’s numerous puzzles.
Room 8 requires both a key and solving a puzzle for entry. Once inside, you’ll encounter yet another challenge. If you’re having trouble locating this room or completing its puzzle, keep reading for the answers you need.
How to Access Room 8
The key to Room 8 can only be obtained by completing the Gallery Room Puzzle. The good news is that you only have to solve this puzzle once. After that, you will always have access to the Room 8 key whenever you enter the Gallery Room.
Next, you just need to find the correct door for the key. Room 8 can only be opened on the eighth row of the blueprint grid once you reach rank eight.
How to Solve Room 8
As you enter Room 8, you’ll notice it mirrors a painting from one of the puzzles in the Gallery Room. Inside are eight bins, each labeled with one of the eight deadly sins.
These bins circle around a sideways number eight statue, which has pins sticking out of it, and a hide on the floor below.
To your left, sitting on individual shelves, are eight statues that each present a riddle. To solve the puzzle, you must connect the riddles to the appropriate bins for each statue. It’s similar to those logic puzzles often found in math exercises.
Solutions for Room 8
Statue |
Riddle |
Solution |
---|---|---|
Penguin |
“The sum of my sin as it is penned is a number within the room we are in.” |
Since you are in Room 8, logically, this sin should go in the bin labeled with eight letters. The answer is Gluttony. |
Lion |
“To first begin place me within a bin with an ‘n’ within its sin.” |
Several sins have the letter “N,” but only Envy fits perfectly in the middle and even sounds like a name when pronounced. The answer is Envy. |
Swan |
“I recommend you think again if I am ever in a bin far from the fin.” |
This one can be tricky, but the correct bin is actually the one near the picture of the shark fin on the left side. By process of elimination, you will discover that the answer is Lust. |
Dog |
“You won’t find my bin in between sin for I deserve to be in a bin down on the end.” |
This riddle leads you to only two choices: Hubris or Mundanity. Since another statue fits in the Hubris bin, the dog belongs in Mundanity. |
Elephant |
“To my chagrin my neighbor’s sin is written thin to fit it all in.” |
It may seem logical to choose Mundanity, but Gluttony’s letters also fit thinly, so the solution for the elephant is Wrath. |
Rabbit |
“I share a trend with my neighbor’s sin a letter and its twin appear on each bin.” |
What you’re looking for are two bins with double letters in their names. Since the dog is with Mundanity (two Ns), the rabbit belongs in the Avarice bin. |
Bear |
“If we spend a min or ten lounging in the den you’ll know which bin I’m often in.” |
This one is simple; the bear is lounging in the den, so he goes in the Sloth bin. |
Monkey |
“The bin I tend to wind up in is near the bend in the tail of the skin.” |
Finally, the monkey says he belongs in the bin near the bend in the skin’s tail. Looking at the skin on the floor, the bend points to the Hubris bin, which is where the monkey statue goes. |
Room 8 Rewards
Once you’ve successfully placed all the statues in their correct bins, a panel will open in the wall where the shelves are located. Inside, you’ll find two allowance tokens. Each token increases your daily allowance by two, giving you an additional four coins each day.
The top reward, however, is The 8 Trophy, which also unlocks the achievement for completing the Room 8 puzzle at Rank 8.
