Finding a storage container close to the Merchant’s Inn in the Imperial City or another merchant’s location is ideal. This way, if you become encumbered, you can still walk to sell your duplicated items.
Before you start, make sure to clear out most of your unnecessary items, as duplicating can quickly lead to exceeding your carrying capacity. You’ll also need a significant quantity of arrows or another item you have multiple units of, like lockpicks. Having at least ten arrows in your inventory is a good starting point.
Once you have your storage container, press the ‘Search’ button. Your inventory will display alongside the container, allowing you to transfer items between them easily.
Using the Duplicate Glitch on PC
Empty the container and place around 100 arrows into it. If you’re on a keyboard and mouse setup, simply hold the shift key while dragging the arrows back to your inventory with a left-click.
This technique will duplicate items within the container, matching the number of arrows you placed inside. However, using this method doesn’t give you direct control over which item gets duplicated.
If the item you wish to duplicate isn’t the one you get, try adjusting where you release the mouse button after dragging the items back to your inventory. This adjustment may yield better results.
Using the Duplicate Glitch on Consoles
For those using Xbox or PlayStation controllers, this method is more precise but can be trickier to execute. Start by placing the item you want to duplicate, such as one Weak Potion of Healing, into the storage container after accessing the search menu.
Next, switch to your inventory using the LB (for Xbox) or L1 (for PlayStation) button. Locate your stash of arrows or any item stored in large quantities. Then press RB+A for Xbox or R1+X for PlayStation. Timing is crucial here; if done right, a prompt will appear, allowing you to select how many items you want to transfer to the container.

Selling the Duplicated Items for Infinite Money
With numerous duplicated items in your possession, it’s time to visit a merchant. Ensure the merchant has a high gold limit, which will be indicated in the barter menu.
Pro Tip: Nilphas Omellian, often found at the Merchant’s Inn, has a gold limit of 2,000, making him a great option for selling.
If you try to offer more than a merchant’s gold limit, they will decline the transaction, which can slow down your money-making process. Finding a merchant with a substantial gold limit means you can sell your duplicated items in batches without exceeding their limit, maximizing your profits.
You can keep the duplication process going and sell your items repeatedly until you amass a significant fortune.
Quick Console Tip: If you’re playing on PC, opening the console and typing “player.additem f X” allows you to add a specific amount of gold to your inventory. Just keep in mind that using cheats will disable achievements for your run.
