Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves has finally arrived, marking the first sequel to Mark of the Wolves in 26 years. Despite the long break, this series continues to excel in character and player expression, offering a range of defensive options that enhance the game’s balance and excitement in every match.
One of the standout new features is the Color Edit mode. This allows players to customize the look of each character by changing colors, designs, and more, giving players a chance to personalize their gameplay like never before!
What Is Color Edit?
In Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, the Color Edit mode gives you the ability to modify the color of your fighters’ hair, outfits, and accessories, and to add unique design patterns to specific clothing items. This opens up even more creative possibilities for expressing yourself in battles.
You start with access to 40 design patterns, each of which comes with a variety of color options. While 40 patterns is substantial, you can actually increase this by an additional 32 patterns, bringing the total up to 72. However, unlocking these additional patterns will require a significant time commitment on your part. It may not be particularly difficult, but it will be very time-intensive. The most sought-after patterns are those you need to unlock, which adds to the excitement for players who love customization.
How to Unlock More Design Patterns
To unlock extra design patterns, you’ll need to play through the single-player mode known as Episodes of South Town in Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves. While this might sound simple, certain aspects make it more challenging and time-consuming than you might think.
Firstly, each character can unlock two additional design patterns. However, these won’t be available until you advance to the South Town+ Map. This map essentially serves as a new game plus version, meaning you have to complete the normal mode first to access these unique patterns.
Moreover, these patterns can only be unlocked in the last two regions of South Town+, requiring considerable gameplay to obtain them, specifically through levels 69 and 90!
Design Pattern Unlock Guide
Here’s a quick overview of how the design patterns are unlocked based on character progress:
Pattern Unlock | Region | Requirements |
---|---|---|
Additional Design Pattern #1 | Second South | During South Town+ |
Additional Design Pattern #2 | East Island | During South Town+ |
As you can see, gaining these unique design patterns means you’ll need to put in some serious work. But there’s good news: if you unlock a design pattern with one character, it can be used with any other character in the game. This makes it worthwhile to pursue unlocking all the patterns.
You might wonder why there appear to be two design patterns missing from the total since there are 17 characters available at launch. The reason is that Christiano Ronaldo does not have access to the Episodes of South Town mode, so his patterns cannot be unlocked.
