As you work to establish your business in Schedule 1, you’re going to begin modestly and expand over time. The key to your success hinges on one crucial element: customers. Without them, you won’t be able to sell anything or earn a profit.
Hyland Point is bustling with potential buyers, spanning from the downtown area to the suburbs, including local officials. Everyone will be eager for a free sample to determine if your offering is worth their investment. However, each customer has specific preferences for effects, so you’ll need to carefully curate your products to keep the sales rolling in.
Note: Schedule 1 is currently in Early Access on Steam, meaning that the information presented may change as updates are released.
How to Easily Attract Customers
Most customers you can unlock have particular "favorite Effects" they desire in a product, and this strongly influences their likelihood of becoming your customers.
Each day, you can provide them with a free sample of any product you have available. Their chances of accepting the sample can range from one percent to 100 percent, and this is influenced by three critical factors:
- The overall quality of the product.
- Whether the quality of the product meets their expectations.
- How many of the product’s effects align with their preferences.
For instance, if you possess a Premium Quality strain with two Effects, it’s much more likely to be accepted by someone with moderate standards compared to a lower-quality strain. However, if the sample contains none of the customer’s favored effects, the acceptance rate won’t exceed about 70 percent.
This acceptance rate is less pressing in the beginning, as your initial customers generally have very low or low standards, meaning they are more likely to accept what you’re offering.
Once customers are unlocked, you can sell them whatever items you’re promoting. It’s wise to prepare only a few tailored samples for each customer to avoid wasting resources.
Once you reach regions like the Docks, where potential customers might have moderate or higher standards, ensuring your products incorporate their favorite Effects significantly boosts your chances of converting them into customers with just one sample.
You can also offer various sample products to different individuals if you’re okay with a slightly lower acceptance rate; many customers share similar favorite Effects, which can help when targeting harder-to-obtain Effects, such as Schizophrenic or Euphoric.
