Pokemon Go keeps players engaged with special in-game events that offer exciting changes for a limited time, including various rewards and new features. This season introduces the Sweet Discoveries Event, packed with numerous bonuses and some firsts for the game.
This event kicks off on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at 10 a.m. local time, and runs until Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 8 p.m. local time. Throughout the event, players can expect not just unique features and bonuses, but also new items. Read further for all the details you need to know.
How to Obtain Applin, Flapple, and Appletun in Pokemon Go
During the Sweet Discoveries Event, players will have the opportunity to catch Applin and its two evolutions, Flapple and Appletun. Evolving either of these forms requires 200 Applin Candy, which can be collected by catching, transferring, or hatching Applin, Flapple, or Appletun.
To evolve Applin into Flapple, you will need 20 Tart Apples, while evolving it into Appletun requires 20 Sweet Apples. Both of these new items will be available during this event and will remain in the game after it ends.
You can also find apples in the wild, which will reward you with one of three possible items when tapped: Tart Apples, Sweet Apples, or an encounter with Applin.
As part of the event, tapping on wild apples gives you a chance to encounter Applin, either during your adventures or as a result of Paid Timed Research.

During the Sweet Discoveries Event, players can enjoy several bonuses that enhance gameplay for everyone. The initial set of bonuses will make daily tasks easier and provide increased rewards, which include:
