When you first obtain a Pickaxe in Runescape: Dragonwilds, you’ll notice that it doesn’t inflict much damage on the nodes, making it quite slow to gather materials from the stone boulders. To speed up your collection and improve your gear, one effective strategy is to search for Copper ore in order to craft Bronze Bars.
Although Copper ore is considered a basic resource for mid-game players, you’ll need to progress to the fourth biome to access it. In addition to Copper, you’ll also have to gather some Tin if you want to make use of the ore.
Runescape: Dragonwilds is currently in Early Access, and the information in this article may change.
Where to Find Copper Ore
To gather Copper in Runescape: Dragonwilds, you must reach the Fractured Plains biome. It’s the fourth biome following the Whispering Swamp, and you can easily spot it due to its pink grass. This large area is filled with Copper nodes.
Look for circular stone piles featuring orange ore to identify the nodes. You can mine these using the Rocksplosion ability or a Bone Pickaxe. Since the Copper nodes are spread out, it’s advisable to place some Lodestones to make future travels easier.
The Fractured Plains can be quite dangerous, with powerful enemies like wolves that can defeat you in just two hits.
To increase your chances of survival, it’s best to equip yourself with bronze-tier gear before attempting to collect large amounts of copper.
Once you have some Copper ore, you’ll also need to find Tin to create Bronze Bars, which will unlock a variety of new buildings, gear, and other useful items.
All Copper Ore Locations
While you can find Copper nodes throughout the Fractured Plains, there are specific locations where they are more concentrated:
- The best spot for sourcing Copper ore is the isolated area in the northeast, where a building appears on the map. You can collect a large amount of ore near the boundary after crossing the river.
- Head to the eastern edge of the central area to find Copper ore both at the edge and within a cave.
- Finally, there’s a significant amount of Copper on the western side of the biome, beyond the large purple river. Go to the northern section, and you’ll see many nodes there.
