In Mythwrecked: Ambrosia Island, your mission is to assist the islanders in recalling their past lives as Greek gods. The secrets of the island prevent them from accessing their divine powers, and you play a crucial role in reconnecting them. Some gods might be tricky to befriend, but with a little effort, you’ll make great progress.
Hephaestus, the god of craftsmanship, may seem gruff initially, but he has a kind nature. As he prefers working in his workshop, you’ll need to help him fix various things around the island and retrieve items that remind him of his former life. Here’s a guide to becoming friends with Hephaestus!
How To Unlock Hephaestus
To unlock Hephaestus, you must obtain two seals: one from Hermes and another from Zeus and Hera. With these seals, you can access Hephaestus’ workshop, located to the west of Ares’ orchard, north of the water wheels.
Once inside, you’ll find Hephaestus in his wheelchair, busy with his latest invention. If he’s not there, come back later.
Hephaestus is available in his workshop from 6 AM to midnight.
Hephaestus Friendship Level One
To start building your friendship with Hephaestus, you need to borrow the Un-hammer and repair the broken wind turbines scattered across the island. You won’t have access to all of them initially, so fixing five will suffice.
You can find the wind turbines marked on your map with a windmill icon in the unlocked areas.
Look along the beaches and shores for wind turbines you can access. You’ll also find one in the atrium along the eastern wall. When you locate them, tap the turbines with the Un-hammer to repair them instantly.
After fixing five wind turbines, return to the God of Invention. He’ll ask you to retrieve some of his cherished mementos to help him regain his memories.
You will need to find the following mementos:
Memento Name | Location |
---|---|
Harpy Automaton | Take the ramp down in the atrium to the east, just past the sentries. |
Winding Handle | Inside Hermes’ seaplane, at the back beneath a hidden panel. |
Bring all the mementos back to Hephaestus to gain his trust and achieve friendship level one! He’ll also upgrade your Ambrosidex radar so you can locate buried mementos.
You can now enter Hephaestus’ workshop and visit him whenever you wish.
Hephaestus Friendship Level Two
After achieving level one, the Un-hammer gets recharged, and you’ll be asked to seek out additional broken turbines. However, you might not have access to all of them right away, so some will require waiting.
Some turbines may be blocked by water, but assisting Poseidon, the God of the Sea, could open up new pathways.
Explore the northern shores for more turbines and repair them using the Un-hammer. This time, you only need to find and fix four.
Memento Name | Location |
---|---|
Overflowing Orders | Buried near the portal by Ares’ Orchard. |
“Do Not Disturb” Sign | Under a tile in the southwest corner of the temple entrance. |
Hourglass | Buried under rocks near a mosaic on the northeastern beach. |
Bring all the items back to Hephaestus to help him remember more of his past and reach friendship level two!
Hephaestus Friendship Level Three
To fully maximize your friendship with Hephaestus, take the charged Un-hammer to repair the last turbines on the island. Check which ones still need work by opening your map and looking for blue wind turbine icons.
You can filter the icons to make them easier to spot!
Once you’ve repaired the remaining wind turbines, you’ll need the following mementos to fully restore Hephaestus’ memory and get the island running smoothly again:
Memento Name | Location |
---|---|
Discarded Designs | Buried under some rocks next to a wind turbine on the southeastern beach. |
Failed Invention | Exchange 100 Ambrosia Fruit with Poseidon. |
After you’ve given all the mementos to Hephaestus and repaired the wind turbines, you’ll achieve level three and complete your friendship! As a reward, you’ll receive Hephaestus’ soulstone, which can be placed in the Gaia cavern.
