In Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, you need to locate all nine Lost Gestrals and return them to camp where they’ll hang out with Sastro in his cozy nook. To find all of them, you’ll have to upgrade Esquie with flying abilities, which means you can only start this quest in Act 3.

The Nine Lost Gestrals Are Found Exclusively On The Continent

To find all nine Lost Gestrals across the continent, you’ll need to master all of Esquie’s abilities. This means that you can only complete this task and earn the trophy in the final Act of the game. After you discover the first Lost Gestral, Sastro will be waiting in a nook back at camp. Be sure to return to him every time you find one to claim your rewards.

The best strategy for collecting these Lost Gestrals is to grab them while exploring each area of the continent. If you happen to miss one, don’t worry—you can always return later. The first two can be found during Act 1 in Spring Meadows, but avoid the Burgeon outside the Stone Wave Cliffs if you’re still under-leveled. Once you learn to swim and navigate through corals, you’ll unlock access to Lost Gestrals 3 to 6, and flying will be required to reach the final three.

Since all nine Lost Gestrals are available on the main continent, you can wait until Act 3, just before the end of Clair Obscur, to track them down. However, be sure to collect at least four of them early on to unlock Paint Break, a useful exploration ability that Sastro teaches Verso after retrieving the fourth Lost Gestral. This ability allows you to break the painted tree-like obstacles that often block paths.
