You can begin gathering the materials needed for Ifa in Genshin Impact if you aim to fully level him up and enhance his Talents. Ifa is one of the two new playable characters debuting with Version 5.6, alongside Escoffier. HoYoverse has confirmed that Ifa is an Anemo character from Natlan, having previously appeared as an NPC in the Version 5.5 World Quests. While specific gameplay details about Ifa remain limited, leaks about his abilities for Genshin Impact 5.6 have surfaced, providing insight into how he will perform in combat.
According to these leaks, Ifa will activate his Elemental Skill to enter a state called Nightsoul’s Blessing, allowing him to float around with the help of Cacucu. In this state, Ifa can launch targeted Normal Attacks to inflict Anemo DMG on enemies. Additionally, he can use these attacks to heal his teammates, giving his kit some similarities to Barbara’s abilities. Ifa can also assist in controlling crowds during battles, as his Elemental Burst enables him to shoot a powerful projectile that generates a wind current in Genshin Impact, drawing in nearby foes.

Pre-Farming Can Be Risky

To maximize Ifa’s potential, you’ll first need to ascend him and level him up to 90, alongside enhancing his Talents. This means pre-farming Ifa’s materials is essential. While developer HoYoverse hasn’t officially listed these materials yet, leaks have provided information on the types of items and the quantities required. The full list of Ifa’s materials has been leaked and is available on Honey Hunter World. Players interested in obtaining him may want to start collecting these materials based on the leaked information.
The Benefits of Pre-Farming
Pre-farming allows you to upgrade Ifa quickly when you acquire him, minimizing the time spent grinding after he’s added to your roster. However, there is a caveat: since these materials are based on leaks, they could change before the character is officially released. This means that some of your farming efforts might end up being in vain if HoYoverse adjusts the required items in Genshin Impact. If you’re comfortable with this risk, then pre-farming is definitely advisable.
Ascension Materials to Pre-Farm for Ifa in Genshin Impact
Use the Interactive Map to Optimize Your Farming Efforts
Since Ifa is confirmed to be an Anemo character, you can safely gather Vayuda Turquoise stones. These materials are unlikely to change because Ifa’s element is set. You can harvest Vayuda Turquoise from Anemo-related bosses in the game, including Tenebrous Papilla, Maguu Kenki, Solitary Suanni, Stormterror, and Shouki no Kami, the Prodigal. Unfortunately, you can’t combine the farming of Vayuda Turquoise with that of world boss materials, as the boss that drops the material Ifa needs does not drop Vayuda Turquoise.
The table below outlines all of Ifa’s Ascension materials in Genshin Impact along with their quantities needed for each level:
Level Ascension | Materials | Rewards |
---|---|---|
Level 20 Ascension | – 1x Vayuda Turquoise Sliver – 3x Juvenile Fang – 3x Saurian Claw Succulent – 20,000 Mora |
|
Level 40 Ascension | – 3x Vayuda Turquoise Fragment – 15x Juvenile Fang – 10x Saurian Claw Succulent – 2x Sparkless Statue Core – 40,000 Mora |
|
Level 50 Ascension | – 6x Vayuda Turquoise Fragment – 12x Seasoned Fang – 20x Saurian Claw Succulent – 4x Sparkless Statue Core – 60,000 Mora |

|
Level 80 Ascension | – 6x Vayuda Turquoise Gemstone – 24x Tyrant’s Fang – 60x Saurian Claw Succulent – 20x Sparkless Statue Core – 120,000 Mora |
|
Total Materials | – 1x Vayuda Turquoise Sliver – 9x Vayuda Turquoise Fragment – 9x Vayuda Turquoise Chunk – 6x Vayuda Turquoise Gemstone – 18x Juvenile Fang – 30x Seasoned Fang – 36x Tyrant’s Fang – 168x Saurian Claw Succulent – 46x Sparkless Statue Core – 420,000 Mora |
According to the leaks, the Sparkless Statue Core is the weekly boss material that Ifa will require for his Ascension. This item drops exclusively from the Lava Dragon Statue world boss in Atocpan, within the Natlan region. The Lava Dragon Statue was introduced in Version 5.5. So far, Sparkless Statue Core has only been needed for Varesa’s Ascension, and Ifa may soon require it as well.
The local specialty item for Ifa is the Saurian Claw Succulent. This material can be located around the Sulfurous Veins area in Natlan. You will need a total of 168 of these, and there are only 90 nodes available to collect from on the map. As a result, you’ll need to go through at least two separate farming routes across different days to gather all of the required materials, given that Local Specialties respawn only after 48 hours.
Don’t forget to utilize the official Interactive Map on HoYoLAB to find the exact locations of all the Saurian Claw Succulents in Natlan, making your farming endeavors smoother.
Additionally, you’ll need to collect Juvenile Fang, Seasoned Fang, and Tyrant’s Fang, which drop from Natlan Saurians found throughout the Nation of Pyro. These drops are random, so you’ll have to defeat numerous Saurians. Importantly, these materials are also necessary for Ifa’s Talent leveling process, so be sure to stock up as much as possible. Again, you can use the Interactive Map to filter out Saurian locations in Genshin Impact.
Lastly, you should keep in mind that you’ll need Mora for Ifa’s materials to facilitate the Ascension process. Unlocking all level thresholds will cost you a total of 420,000 Mora, and if you choose to level Ifa using Character EXP Materials, it will require an additional 1,673,400 Mora. If you need more Mora or EXP materials, farm them through the Blossom of Wealth or Blossom of Revelation activities, respectively. It’s wise to perform these activities in Natlan to also gather more Fang materials for Ifa, as they present opportunities to encounter Natlan Saurians in Genshin Impact.
Talent Materials to Pre-Farm for Ifa in Genshin Impact
The Weekly Boss Material Can’t Be Pre-Farmed
In addition to Fang materials, you’ll need to prepare extra copies that can be purchased monthly from Paimon’s Bargains. Ifa’s leaked Talent materials also indicate that Justice books will be required. The Teachings of Justice, Guide to Justice, and Philosophies of Justice can be farmed exclusively from the Blazing Ruins Domain in Natlan, which is only available on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays. Talent books can be tricky to pre-farm due to the daily farming restrictions in Genshin Impact, so it’s recommended to start collecting these as soon as possible.
The table below lists all the materials necessary for Ifa’s Talents:
Talent Materials | Usage |
---|---|
Teachings of Conflict | Talent Leveling |
Guide to Conflict | Talent Leveling |
Philosophies of Conflict | Talent Leveling |
Juvenile Fang | Talent Leveling |
Seasoned Fang | Talent Leveling |
Tyrant’s Fang | Talent Leveling |
Weekly Boss Material | Talent Leveling |
Crown of Insight | Talent Leveling |
Mora | Talent Leveling |
The leaks suggest that Ifa will require a currently unnamed weekly boss material, represented by a chess pawn icon. This material has yet to be named, but is expected to drop from a new weekly boss in Genshin Impact 5.6 that will be located in Mondstadt. Pre-farming for this item won’t be possible, and it may take months to gather enough copies to fully enhance Ifa’s Talents.
As with any character, Ifa will also need one Crown of Insight to elevate each Talent to its highest level—totaling three Crowns. These can be obtained through specific limited-time events, via the reputation system, included in the battle pass, or purchased monthly at Paimon’s Bargains. Finally, you will need to allocate a staggering 4,957,500 Mora to completely upgrade all of Ifa’s Talents in Genshin Impact, so it’s best to start farming now to ease your workload once you finally acquire him.
