Exploring Ys X: Nordics – A Guide to Termina Island
At first, Ys X: Nordics may feel a bit slow, but things will pick up when Carnac comes under attack. This event introduces you to a variety of characters, including several villains like Jord and Odr. Odr will engage you with his ship and lead you to the Tyrant, ultimately taking you to Termina Island.
Termina Island is a vast area waiting to be explored if you want to repair your ship. You will encounter numerous enemies and face various puzzles throughout your journey.
The main surface of Termina Island consists of three sections. Each new area can be accessed through a cave system. The first challenge you will encounter involves fast-moving enemies that can dodge your attacks. To effectively battle these foes, trigger their dodge moves, then follow up with powerful attacks.

Note: Buried treasures can only be collected after you unlock Mana Sense during your adventure.
The first cave on Termina Island offers a straightforward experience, but be wary of deep water pools. Should you drown, your character respawns at the last land position, so it’s best to maneuver using the Gullinboard to cross them.
At one point, you will encounter a fork in the path and should choose the right route. Here, use your board on the mana rail to surf across. In the next room, move to the left and climb up onto the higher platform. Here, you’ll need to interact with a broken pillar, which will create a straight mana rail leading through the cave.

At the start of the second cave, your first task will be to jump between two mana rails. Continue deeper into the cave until you enter a large room filled with multiple mana rails. Take the right path and grapple over the gap at the end.
Keep using your Gullinboard on various rails and boosters to reach the top of the area, allowing you to enter the last section of Termina Island’s surface.
