The conclusion of The Rise of the Golden Idol is marked by Chapter 5, but completing the Steelside Warehouse scenario leaves you with the sense that there may be more to explore. Although a climactic ending awaits, you first face another puzzle that requires you to piece together the chapter’s main themes.
In this part of the game, the focus is on the potential applications of the I.D.O.L. machine, a remarkable creation by OPIG’s scientists. This Golden Idol is intended to grant their ambitions, yet Hunter Wolf seems to have his own mysterious agenda regarding its use. What insights have you gathered about this machine up to this point?
All I.D.O.L. Rules Solutions
In this chapter, you only need to fill in a single panel that revolves around the functions of the I.D.O.L. Keep these tips in mind:
- Some of the solutions should be quite straightforward, but you might want to revisit details from earlier scenarios.
- The various symbols at the top can be traced back to several scenarios, including the one involving Ancient Artifacts.
- Information regarding the disks can often be pieced together from challenges faced in earlier chapters and clues found in Ancient Artifacts.
- The symbols on the machine are essentially controls, and you should feel confident arranging these into the correct positions. There’s only one control you haven’t encountered, but logically, only one term would suit it.
- The diagram on the left will likely remind you of a pictogram puzzle from Ancient Artifacts, as the narrative is very similar.
- Don’t overthink the colors of the brains in this puzzle; they don’t match the colors of the crystal. However, the crystal’s color is crucial.
- For improved clarity on the picture puzzle and the accompanying descriptive text, refer to the I.D.O.L. Guide information on the left side of your display.
The Lens Symbols
Here’s a table that outlines the symbols in order:
Duration |

≈ 1 minute |

I.D.O.L. Controls
Going clockwise from the top of the diagram, the controls include:
- Matter
- Memory
- Heat
- Take
- Give
The Disks
The red indicators display how much memory is available on a disk. Disks are not subject to depletion.
Comic Interaction Steps
Here’s what you need to do within the comic:
- Add a blue diamond to the I.D.O.L.’s crystal.
- Attach a red diamond to the I.D.O.L.’s crystal and connect an empty brain to the individual’s head.
- Place a red diamond into the I.D.O.L.’s crystal while positioning the blue and yellow brains on people’s heads.
- Use a blue diamond for the I.D.O.L.’s crystal and place two pink brains on individuals’ heads.
The Crystal
When the crystal glows red, the I.D.O.L. is full, and the take command becomes ineffective. If it’s blue, the I.D.O.L. is empty. To deplete the I.D.O.L., apply the give command either on an empty disk or a conscious person.
Completing this panel leads you to unlock the game’s concluding scenario!
