Marvel Rivals: Season 2 Unveils the Cerebro Database Event
Season 2 of Marvel Rivals is packed with exciting new features, including the Cerebro Database event that allows players to earn a free skin for Mantis. Currently, this four-part event has one page accessible for players, where they can collect in-game currency by finishing specific objectives during matches. As additional sections unlock, you can look forward to earning even more rewards before the event wraps up.
The Cerebro Database event is reminiscent of previous limited-time events, such as Galacta’s Cosmic Adventure and the ongoing Pick-Up Bundle in Marvel Rivals. Mark your calendars: the event runs from April 11 to May 9, 2025, after which the available rewards will no longer be accessible. This is a great opportunity to avoid spending real money, as you can gain new cosmetics and a wealth of in-game currency by participating.
What Is the Cerebro Database Event?
The Cerebro Database event kicks off Season 2 by inviting players to dive into fresh content revolving around the Hellfire Gala on Krakoa. Throughout this event, you will unlock pages that focus on particular mutant characters and expand your knowledge about them. Using Cerebro, a device that enhances the abilities of psychic mutants, you’ll explore the profiles of significant characters.
Challenges in the Cerebro Database event are centered around the living island of Krakoa, which features three maps available for Domination match types. Completing matches and objectives on the Krakoa: Hellfire Gala map will help you earn rewards. Additionally, if you play as the new Vanguard character, Emma Frost, you’ll also acquire some exclusive items.
You can explore four character pages throughout the event. One is dedicated to Emma Frost, while the others feature Wolverine, Namor, and Black Panther. Future objectives may involve these additional characters, too.
Each page in the Cerebro Database will unlock automatically as the event progresses, so you won’t need to meet any prerequisites to access other character profiles. There are nine missions for each character page, with rewards outlined for each. The missions are arranged in a 3×3 grid, and completing them allows you to clear challenges horizontally or vertically.
Completing the Cerebro Database Event
To finish the Cerebro Database event, simply complete all the missions on each character’s profile page. Since there are nine missions for every character, you’ll need to accomplish a total of 36 objectives related to those profiles. For instance, one mission on Emma Frost’s page requires you to read her Lore, which can be completed by checking out the character in the Heroes menu.
To give you an idea of what tasks you can undertake on Emma Frost’s page, here are the current challenges:
- Defeat 60 enemies in Quick Match, Competitive, or Practice vs. AI.
- View Challenge 1 during the event period.
- complete five matches in Quick Match, Competitive, or Practice vs. AI.
- Deal 10,000 damage using Emma Frost in Quick Match, Competitive, or Practice vs. AI.
- Take 20,000 damage as Emma Frost in Quick Match, Competitive, or Practice vs. AI.
- Read Emma Frost’s Lore: Forged in Hellfire.
- Secure 40 assists in Quick Match, Competitive, or Practice vs. AI.
- Win one match on the Krakoa: Hellfire Gala map.
- Stun 10 enemies with Psionic Seduction as Emma Frost in Quick Match, Competitive, or Practice vs. AI.
With the character changes introduced in Marvel Rivals Season 2, these goals should easily be achievable across a few matches. Emma Frost’s missions encourage you to play as her to complete her specific challenges. As other pages become available, you’ll likely need to play different characters to complete the themed missions associated with those profiles.
If you’re having difficulty tracking the mission challenges on a character’s page, you can also navigate to the Missions menu in the Season tab. You’ll find it as the second tab from the bottom, nestled between the Battlepass and Event sections.
You’ll be pleased to know that you don’t need to complete every mission to finish the event. You only have to fill out three rows, columns, or lines in whatever arrangement best suits your completion strategy. Connecting three tasks on a page will unlock one of three available rewards, and completing the profile will grant you the final gift.
Rewards from the Cerebro Database Event
Each character page in the Cerebro Database event presents various rewards, but finishing all character profiles will net you the Flora Maiden Mantis skin. Alongside the new skins from the Season 2 Battle Pass, this cosmetic is a rare design for Mantis that will only be available for a limited time.
Here’s a sneak peek at some additional rewards you can earn from completing missions on a character’s profile:
- Chrono Tokens (Purple Currency)
- Gallery Cards
- Units (Blue Currency)
- Sprays
The Gallery Cards offered during the event provide vital context for the Season 2 storyline, including Ultron’s invasion of Krakoa. Meanwhile, the Chrono Tokens can be used to redeem rewards from the Battle Pass, giving you additional cosmetics for your favorite characters. Units are useful for purchasing the Pass itself or securing a long-sought skin.
With the changes brought in Season 2, Chrono Tokens can now be earned more easily from daily and weekly tasks, which are no longer as restrictive regarding character or role selection. Nevertheless, this currency is still harder to acquire frequently, making the tokens obtained from the Cerebro Database particularly advantageous.
The unique cosmetics from this event won’t likely return anytime soon after it concludes, especially as new events roll out. While it may take some time to complete character profiles, the rewards from the Cerebro Database event in Marvel Rivals are certainly worthwhile, especially for the exclusive Mantis skin.
