PS Plus Essential for August 2026 has started releasing free monthly games, initially available in Japan and Asia on Tuesday, August 4. Unlike the Extra and Premium tiers, the Essential games are released simultaneously worldwide, so players everywhere can access the lineup at noon local time when the PlayStation Store updates.
This month’s lineup includes Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition (PS5 and PS4), Big Walk (PS5—launch day), and Signalis (PS4). It’s a solid selection for both PS5 and PS4 users, with Dying Light 2 standing out as the main highlight. The Reloaded Edition features all previous updates along with the Bloody Ties DLC.
According to Techland, the Reloaded Edition benefits from enhanced visuals and revamped gameplay mechanics thanks to over ten prior updates. Most notably, it includes the first story expansion, Bloody Ties. Essentially, this version is a more polished and comprehensive take on Dying Light 2, reflecting the developer’s efforts over the past two years.
