The side quest titled “Soaring Above the Starry Sky” in Infinity Nikki appears straightforward at first glance, but there’s one element towards the end that complicates its completion. You must first finish the quest “Attention! Faewish Sprite Spotted,” which is the fourth primary story quest in the Abandoned District and also the final quest of Chapter Four.
After you finish “Attention! Faewish Sprite Spotted,” the “Soaring Above the Starry Sky” quest will automatically unlock. By this time, you should be able to repair the various Skypass areas and flowers scattered throughout the Abandoned District. The quest is just a quick flight away from starting. You can initiate the quest in two different locations, but it’s best to speak with Elron in Stoneville to get the complete context.
How To Complete Soaring Above the Starry Sky
Start by Speaking to Elron, Then Pinny in the Abandoned District
Interestingly, you can kick off this quest by chatting with Elron in Stoneville or with Pinny in the Abandoned District. Either way, you’ll want to return to Stoneville to get started. Elron will mention his desire to deliver a package to a character named Piecey, Pinny, in the Abandoned District, and he’ll ask for Nikki’s assistance in making the delivery. You can travel using the newly unlocked Mirth Market Skypass or the Stellar Fishing Ground Warp Spire to reach Pinny.
You’ll find Pinny right next to the Warp Spire, and she’ll direct you to Lenise, another Piecey, who wishes to see an Astral Swan fly before he passes away. Lenise is located west of Pinny, so you’ll need to descend to the bottom of the Stonetree you’re on to discover him in the remnants of an old house. Pinny will inform Nikki that to help fulfill Lenise’s wish, she needs to groom the Astral Swan before flying with it. To locate the Astral Swan, return to the Stellar Fishing Ground Warp Spire.
Fulfilling Lenise’s Final Wish
Groom the Astral Swan, Then Glide
The Astral Swan will be easy to spot once you warp. From the Stellar Fishing Ground, head southwest toward Crescent Pond. You’ll see the Swan flying overhead before it lands in a field nearby in a cutscene. Approach it while wearing your Animal Grooming outfit, groom it, and receive one Astral Feather crafting material.
After grooming the Swan, walk to the cliff’s edge to trigger a special event. This part can be tricky; if you make a mistake, you’ll need to restart the entire event sequence. When you approach the Swan, ensure you switch to your Floral Gliding Outfit while still on the ground.
Typically, you can only wear this outfit in Skypasses or after receiving an updraft boost into the air, so it’s not immediately obvious that this is the next step. There may not even be a button prompt (though it didn’t appear for me) to indicate what to do next. Press the Ability Outfit button, usually right-click on PC, while still grounded next to the Astral Swan to initiate the gliding sequence.
As you glide, certain dialogues will trigger; if you miss one by flying out of bounds, you’ll have to restart the sequence. Stay attentive while flying and press the button prompt for “soar” when it appears on your screen to keep the sequence moving correctly. Avoid “steering” while in flight, as this could shift you too far out of the conversation range and disrupt the sequence.
If you see the gliding stamina bar appear next to Nikki, you’ll know you’ve drifted too far and messed up the flying sequence.
Once you successfully complete the flight, return to Pinny on the Stellar Fishing Ground Trail. She’ll regretfully inform you that Lenise has passed and instruct you to return to Stoneville to update Elron. Head to the Dye Workshop Stonetree Warp Spire to find him again.
After discussing everything that transpired with Elron, the quest will conclude. You’ll earn 400 Mira EXP, 30 Diamonds, 15k Bling, 50 Threads of Purity, and a Sketch for Galaxy’s Desire. Completing side quests is just one way to earn Diamonds for free, and it’s an excellent opportunity to delve deeper into Miraland and its inhabitants. While “Soaring Above the Starry Sky” may not be the most complicated quest in Infinity Nikki, it stands out for its unique completion requirements.
