When diving into Schedule 1, you aren’t guided much through the gameplay. Instead, you’re dropped into the action and left to figure things out yourself. Fortunately, many of the game’s operations are quite simple. This is particularly true for minor tasks, like assigning a bed.
Once you begin bringing on team members, such as a Botanist, you need to ensure they have a place to rest. While assigning a bed might seem trivial, it plays a vital role in keeping your operations running smoothly.
How to Assign Employees to Beds
Understand the Function of a Bed
You can purchase a bed at Dan’s Hardware store for $150. After the purchase, it appears in your hot bar at the bottom of the screen. To place the bed down, hover over it and left-click to position it where you want. Then, locate your worker using the clipboard. Click on their name, and you’ll see ‘none’ next to bed. Move to the bed you want to assign them, and left-click again.
You should see an image of your employee at the head of the bed with a black suitcase next to it. This suitcase allows you to pay your workers their daily wages. Not only does the bed provide a place to sleep, but it also serves as a means to process payments.
If you’re low on funds and need to pay your employees, visit the Pawn Shop location.
If you don’t provide a bed for your worker, they won’t get paid, and if they don’t get paid, they won’t work. It’s as simple as that. Additionally, you can only assign someone to a bed if it’s in a safe location, like an apartment, warehouse, or motel where your business is based. Remember that each employee requires their own bed.
How to Unassign Employees from Beds
Reorganize and Manage Your Staff
If you need to reorganize your team or remove some members, there are three methods you can use. The first involves picking up the clipboard and interacting with the worker. At the top of the paper, you’ll see the assigned bed with a red ‘X’ next to it. Click the red ‘X’ to unassign the bed from that worker.
Alternatively, select the bed option, go to a different bed, and left-click on it to assign the worker to that new location. You can also simply pick up the bed using a right-click. This will place the bed in your inventory, and once you re-position it, it will be unassigned. Don’t forget to assign the worker to a different bed afterward; otherwise, they won’t complete their tasks in Schedule 1.
