Assassin's Creed Shadows: Where to Find Merchants & Blacksmiths

In Assassin’s Creed Shadows, trading is just as crucial as shopping for enhancing your character’s abilities. This aspect becomes increasingly vital as you approach the level cap and face tougher adversaries. Fortunately, several merchants are available where you can acquire essential items like upgrades, weapons, and cosmetic enhancements.

The merchants are scattered across various regions, so being aware of their locations is beneficial. This way, you won’t end up wandering aimlessly when you urgently need to boost your character in AC Shadows.

Types of Merchants

In AC Shadows, there are four types of merchants that can help you create the ideal build for your character. The Gear Vendors offer weapons and armor, while the Port Traders provide items for upgrading your hideout.

Ornament Vendors provide decorative items for your hideout or horse, while the sixteen Food Vendors offer meals that not only serve as quest items but also enhance your Rations. Some vendors may have overlapping roles in their locations, and you’ll need gold (mon) to purchase items from them.

Blacksmith Location

Find Heiji and Recruit Him for Your Forge

Before you can start upgrading your equipment, you’ll need to recruit a blacksmith named Heiji, which is part of a quest titled Ways of the Blacksmith. You can locate him to the east of the port area in Sakai. If you see a man being accosted by some thugs, that’s him. After you deal with the thugs, he will introduce himself as Heiji.

Once you’ve spoken with him, you’re free to hire him for the Forge you’ll construct at your hideout, allowing you to upgrade your gear at your convenience. Just remember, to enhance your gear in Assassin’s Creed Shadows, ensure that you have enough of the required materials.
